Hi Anne,
You wont be the oldest at college, (last year I thought I would be at 30yr but I was really surprised) I have just completed nvq level2 beauty and we had other girlies and ladies ages ranging from 18 to over 50 and we all had a great year together. You will really enjoy it. I specilise in nails but decided that I could offer other treatments, but my aim behind doing the nvq was to have the qualification, this year I am fast tracking my level 3 nails and then start cert ed course in Jan. Yey. It has been a great experience. You can just do an nvq in nails, have you thought of that? Go for it!!! What have you got to loose? You will make new friends and have fun. Go and enroll. |

Hi anne, it has been a while since i did my training but i loved it! I did my training over two years and took little extras whilst training like massage and aromatherapy. The ladies on my course ranged from 18 up to 60, and to be fair the older one's seemed to cause the most trouble lol
The fast track courses are good, but like u said expensive and i am not sure if they are as in depth as are completed in a shorter time frame, or maybe they are just more difficult as they need to cram all the training into a shorter space of time Godd luck in whatever u decide, which ever way u go u will love itxxxx ![]() |

Speaking as a really old lady of 47, I can say got for it. You are never too old to learn new skills and I can assure you the life skills things you have learnt along the way can really help you be a really special therapist.
I have lots of Clients who come to me because I am older (their sort of age) and they are not so embarassed to take their clothes off, etc. (I do lots of massage). Good luck, all new learning is good. |

Hi Anne, I did a degree and I was one of the mature students, I was in my early 30's and after that I did my BTEC National Diploma in beauty therapy, gel nails with essential nails, nail art and acrylics. The point I am making here is to go ahead with doing the courses that you feel you need and don't worry about your age and enjoy your course/s. I thoroughly enjoyed my courses and hope you will too. Good luck
and I hope this is helpful. |
