Changing skincare brands - any advice? - 09-09-08, 07:48 PM

Hi everyone!
So I've found another wee place to hopefully set up my salon in. The only problem is, there's a salon down the road that uses the Dermalogica range and so do I at the minute.

If I do set up in these premises, I don't think it's a good idea for me to stick with Dermalogica as I want to give clients a bit of variety. Plus, my clients right now aren't really bothered with the brand and my retail stuff is just gathering dust on the shelf!

I was looking at Eve Taylor and they're stuff seems fab, but I'm wondering is it a good idea to change to a lesser known brand? I can't afford any of the mad start up costs that the big names are asking for.
I just know that all you geeks who use Eve Taylor swear by it, and I'm definitely willing to give it a go!

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Love tasha

Eve Taylor products are really fab, and they make the facial oils for dermalogica so some of the products have the same smell. The specialists masques and the AHA skin peel are brilliant. I use the massage oils for my holistic therapies and you can retail shower gels and candles too.

Go with Eve Taylor. I can't believe the response I've got over here in Ireland to it. I've just stocked my Salon with it and the clients can't say enough about it. The oils are the same as dermalogica's and the body oils are gorgeous. You won't regret it. . Best of luck with it too!!

Lol , that was my thread. I need to update my comments on there, but will also add here that I have just signed up with Germain De Cappuccini. I ummed and aaggh'd for months about which product range to go with before choosing Germaine.

I visited their distributers, Totally UK Ltd., and had a facial with them which totally blew me away. Gorgeous products IMO and I came out feeling like I had had a face lift. My daughter commented positively when I got home.

The training is included in the purchase of your stock and you do have options in what you choose so it does not have to be hugely expensive.

There are so many factors to consider....i used Academie scientifique de beaute ,a French brand, and although the distributors had little respect for the brand IMO it gave fantastic results....but ultimately it is how you,as the owner markets the brand, and the passion and enthusiasm that you have for the brand, alon with support from the distributor which is always a plus, but is not always the answer....LOL

Good luck with your choice

Algologie facial products - 12-09-08, 05:38 PM

We use Algologie in the spa and is a good brand without having to re-mortgage your house. The customers love the products and it retails well, as it is not over priced.

I also work with Algologie in the Trade and have seen it grow in salons very quickly, customers getting the results they want and enjoying the pampering experience.
