Going Mobile - 27-10-09, 10:59 AM

Hi Everyone,

I have just qualified as a beauty therapist and would like to go mobile, the problem is there seems to be so much stuff I need to take into the client.

At the moment I have divided everything into plastic boxes, facials, waxing, manicure etc. plus a big box for towels, headbands, couch covers. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to make it easier?
Thanks.

Well not really but generally you wont be taking every box with you to every client, some times it does feel like it but most of the time it,s just say your waxing stuff and pedi stuff, bag full of towels, couch. When you first go to someone, you have to take a stoola and fold down table too, but you soon learn who has a chair you can use, and where you can set up next to a table. so you can take less.
I just think of it as my work out so i dont feel guilty not getting to the gym!!
Its a great way to work I love it, good luck with it all.xx

The first time I took all my stuff to someone's house and set up I needed a rest. Luckily it was my cousin's house and she was running late so my aunty made me a cup of tea. Lol.

One thing I always find very helpful is to have a check list for each treatment. This means that you are never in a position where you have forgotton stuff and make a fool of yourself which I did when I first started mobile...oops! ha ha
Good Luck xx

Ive got different boxes for different things maincures, pedicures, waxing etc. The idea being, I can just grab whatever box I need before I go to a client. Works most of the time but have to remember to restock each box at the end of the day!

Good luck! xx

I don't do individual mobile work so can't really help with oganisational tips but, do any of your clients have friends who could go to their house at the same time so you could do more than 1 person at a time? 2 for the price of 1 so to speak

I have all my stuff in relevant boxes, waxing box, pedi box, facial box etc etc, so when it comes to packing up i can just grab the relevant stuff, so that means i have 2 of certain things like nippers, tweezeres, sponges etc; it just keeps things neatly stored for me at home.
Also, with pedis, facials and manis, i normally use small trial sized bottles that i pour from the larger salon sized bottles and tubs, this just saves on storage when you're out and about.
For eye treatments/make up etc i carry a La fuma couch that is really light and comes with a bag, and in this bag i also carry a collapsible tv table to use to set my stuff up on when im at a clients house.
Once you've done it a few times it gets easier and you will know exactly how to pack your car and your trolley/bag etc...xXx
