Advice Needed -
23-08-11, 05:27 PM
Hello,
I'm new here and I was wondering if anyone could share some advice with me... I don't have any experience in the beauty industry, other than doing a bit of nail art on my friends, but I have recently been given a massive opportunity which I don't want to let go. I've been asked to take over a sunbed shop, which also does spray tans and has power plates. I know I can do a course in spray tanning, so that wouldn't be a problem, but other than that will I be okay going into this business as a novice? There would be one other experienced member of staff working for me. In the long run, I would like to incorporate the nails and maybe some more into the salon, but for now I'd just like your opinions on whether it's going to be a waste of my time, or if not, what I need to do to make it work? Thanks! |

It all depends on whether the business is profitable. If there is a good profit margin, it would be worth looking in to. If the margin is tight, it means the current owners, who presumably do know the business, are struggling, and so what chance do you have?

You can only decide that when you see the books, and realistically, you'll need an accountant or someone who is financially competent to view the books so you can understand what the situation really is.
