Yes..... its coming around the corner and ive decided to be proactive this year n wondering whether it would be worth it to retail some xmasy products too boost my income due to the lack of clients i have bcs of this credit crunch thingy.....

what have you sold in the past? what worked well for you?

I bought some of the Avojuice lotions - in my opinion they aren't as nice as Creative Scentsations, which are just LUSH!

I had the Decleor rep in the other day with the christmas promotions, which was a shock as I'd forgotten about christmas! I'm probably going to order in a few hundred pounds of christmas boxes, as despite all this talk of cutting back I've seen no downturn in my sales of products (sold about £600 retail value of stock last month). The great thing about this years Decleor christmas boxes is none of them have christmas written on them & so if I don't get rid of them all before December I could still sell them. I think the Jessica rep is in soon so that will be the next outlay!

I generally try to have some products for retail at christmas, normally priced between the £10 & £50 range, although last year I sold a £150 box of products! In the past I've compiled my own christmas boxes by combining themed products in nice boxes & baskets with tissue & ribbon. For example one year we had a gardener's box with hand & nail products for worked hands, along with a bottle of lavender for any cuts etc. We also did one for expectant mothers, a body brushing & moisturising box etc etc. You could also have a box with a treatment voucher in & one or two small related products in it, say a voucher for an aromatherapy massage in a box with a massage oil, or a body wrap in a box with a body brush & moisturiser. You can get great packaging online, so it's worth shopping about.

What a fantanstic idea! I will be pinching of some of those for sure. I especially like the idea of combining treatment vouchers and associated products. My brain is already thinking up some more!

I'm going to start getting my christmas retail sorted next month. I'm making up gift boxes in two sizes, stocking filler size and luxury hamper size. On the nails side, the stocking fillers will be a nail enamel, a solar oil, a mini sensations hand lotion and a pair of moisturizing hand mitts. The luxury hamper will have the larger sizes of the above, a sensations hand wash, two enamels, a small box of these handmade chocolates - http://www.hotchocolates.biz/index.php (because the boxes match my colour scheme) and an individual size bottle of pink champagne. Each boxed up in lovely black boxes with hot pink tissue paper and ribbon, and a 15% off voucher for nails.

My spray tan stocking fillers will include a full size Sienna Spray Tan in a can, a pair of application gloves, two sachets of exfoliater, two sachets of Tan top up and an exfoliating mitt. The luxury size will include the full size spray tan in a can, full size exfoliater and tan top up, a can of gold shimmer spray, exfoliating mitts, application gloves, a box of chocs, a mini bottle of champagne and a money off voucher for a tan.

I'm hoping to have my website made up by christmas and include a section where you can order these online. I've also booked a stall at my towns christmas pageant (organised by the local business association). And I'll be making up lots of gift certificates in the same style as the boxes (black glossy card folded to open in the middle, hot pink tissue paper, certificate and pink ribbon).

Oooh - I'm so looking forward to christmas already

This is a fantastic idea because I did something similar and it worked a treat for me when I first started out as a mobile therapist, I decided that I would launch my business at schools doing raffles and wedding faires doing raffles as well, it went down really well, I gained a lot of customers whom are still loyal to me, they love the products and they loved the desplays.
