I am sat here with a beer (how butch am I??!!) and an hour left until the end of the month, and I am so looking forward to tomorrow as it’ll be the first day since Christmas that I will be able to stop and take some time out for myself.

Work has been busy. Crazy busy, almost to the point of me wanting to take a sickie just to get a day off, lol, which I haven’t done in years!! It’s all good though, I just need to learn how to say “actually, no, you can’t have that appointment time as I should be out drinking beer with my friends instead”… or words to that effect.

Thanks to David Beckham’s beautifully smooth Speedo-line, there’s been a rush of media interest in men’s waxing this last couple of weeks. I’m so chuffed for Kimmi, she’s done herself proud with her interviews and is a natural on the airwaves. I made my client sit with me and watch her GMTV slot on Tuesday before I would wax his eyebrows, hahaha, I was like an excited child!

I’m also really pleased as two of my very first waxing students, Penni and Amanda, were interviewed for the Guardian article last weekend – how cool is that? I feel like a proud dad!

On the training side of things, I’ve been all over the place this month and was lucky enough to travel up north again to a gorgeous medispa in York. They’ve very kindly offered me the use of their fabulous new training facilities for future courses in the area, so watch out Yorkshire girlies, I shall be back!! I must admit I do love it up your end of the country, although it was a bit breezy last week, brrrrrrr!

On a related note, I’ve recently had a couple of articles accepted for the trade press, which I’m really thrilled about, and am in tentative, very early talks about a possible publishing deal… Exciting stuff, but before then I need to get ExCel out of the way. I haven’t even started planning my workshop presentation yet, I’m feeling a bit nervous if I’m honest. No heckling at the back!

Anyway, tomorrow I am being treated to an evening in the flotation tank at the Nirvana Spa by the lovely Zoe, which actually made me cry when she told me (it’s true, I am a big soppy ninny). Can’t wait, although apparently I have to wear my swimming trunks and I realised today I don’t actually own any… Borat thong it is, then…

Hope that February brings you all lovely things xxx

Andy, that's not how to say no! There is no need to give a reason, as though it is your fault.
Say "Actually, no, you can't have that time. It's not available. What about.......instead?" You don't need to justify yourself having personal time, whether it be to go out with your mates, or you just want to sit contemplating your navel. Got that now? Go and practise in front of the mirror.

And once it works for you, could you give me some lessons in saying "no" too please? LOL
