I finally made my website decent.
Beautification Posted it last time i'd re done it and it was awful but they've updated all the tech stuff so i could do a lot more.i'm impressed but i'm sure i won't be for long. Someone said google will never find my site due to flash or something confusing.. has anyone got advice on this? Thanks.xx |

I think fake bake's lawyers will be on you like a ton of bricks if you dont change that logo- and they will. Did you just take the FB logo and put your name in the middle?
It was me who mentioned your site being in Flash. Search engines are going to find it really hard to find it. |

The issue with search engines is that Flash is a binary format (as opposed to HTML which is text based) and harder (if not impossible) for search engines to read. So it can make a web site harder to be found in Google if not used properly. Posted via Mobile Device |

I think the main issue is that the web site provider that Beautification is using for her site uses Flash for their navigation menus (which are critical in terms of search engines, as search engines need to be able to read links to other pages on the site). As it is one of the web site providers that let you design your own site using a user-friendly template type system (but unlike most others, theirs is using Flash for navigation menus for some reason).
There is nothing wrong with Flash if it is used in the right context, e.g. for providing rich content like animations, music and video. I think YouTube use Flash for their video player, for example. So the key with using Flash is to make sure that there is adequate description of the content in the HTML code of the web page with the Flash in it (so that search engines can index it properly). Hope that helps and isn't getting too techie! Posted via Mobile Device |
