LOL true - for some reason I have a lot of gay clients though and I am not considered butch hehe!

Going off the subject - I went to Hulme to do training and my mum went mad saying how dangerous it was. Now anyone that knows hulme knows the worst that was going to happen was being hit over the head with a handbag because my shoes didnt match my trousers lol!

i think that as long as you have nothing to hide then wats the problem?
its security, and its not as if you are actually naked its just standing in front of a machine, as suicide bombers have started ingesting bombs ect so if this pics it up well done technology

It might even be good for picking up drugs couriers too (especially the ones who ingest bags of drugs only to poop them out when they get to their destination)...

I am all for this. We live in different times now where security must be of paramount importance. I would have no problem with this and think it is an excellant idea. I would rather go through this machine than myself or anyone else get blew up. After all we generally look the same and I am sure the operators just like any other job will get bored after a while. Yes I understand that it could be embarrasing (I would be also) but what is a few seconds of embarrassment to death for yourself or other people. A small price.

i dont think it would bother me if i am honest , when we ever go to the states you have to have your fingerprints done and go on their sytem etc... its all very scary and serious , lmao , i would rather walk through an xray machine than sit in a office with a big, armed ,scary man that you feel sure is gonna start accusing ya of bein a serial killer or something equally daft ,even though you are only off shopping for the day , hahah

Definitely. Especially if it threw up the ceramic knives used by the 9/11 terrorists. It would be a great contribution to world peace to send some of those scanners back in time to 2001, as it would hopefully have prevented 9/11 and avoided giving George Bush such an excuse to be a warmongering idiot!

Drug smugglers don't bother me. Nope don't wanna get bombed - but I also don't want to stand in front of someone - while someone I can't see is laughing at me! And like x rayed luggage - how do we know he/she is paying attention?

Thing is I don't have anything to hide - just like 99% of us, but because of those few extremists we have to suffer. Oh and the irony of it all is that the terrorists who bomb western countries - do so for things such as dressing provactively etc - this would send them over the edge ! And I get the feeling if it is made to be compulsory then muslim women would be exempt for religious reasons - am I right? And the fact its 'not compulsory' begs the question - 'why would an innocent do it?' and wouldnt the dodgey guy slip through?

Now I thought the big poilce people (FBI??) do things called profiling. So they are trained for whom and what to look for. I am sure you all have seen those programs where customs and excise can spot drug smugglers or immigrants a mile off without checking everyone - why? because they are trained to profile different scenarios and piece things together.

When I have been away I have seen young blonde girls searched thouroughly and questioned when shes with another couple of girls where as someone who looks dodgy in my mind - who are together with similar people get on a plane to a place you wouldnt expect just walk through!

I know we are against ID cards but I would far prefer my whole life be documented with my finger print than feel embarrased in this way. Then at least you can eliminate all terrorism be it on planes/trains or car bombs! and then we can send these small minded terrorists that know very little about their own religions values, morals and lessons to the Sun! I'm yet to find a religion that says - blow up everyone who dosn't believe in what you do and you go to heaven ! Duh! How deluded these people are!

I won't get on to the religion part because that very often causes a LOT of bad feelings on forums, and like in the salon we have to stay away from religion (amongst other subjects).
