It's because this country is such a soft touch that we have so many illegal immigrants in the first place!
The problem needs to be dealt with and we need stricter controls about who can come into this country.
I'm sorry but you look after your own first!
We have thousands of people living on the street, living in poverty or living on the breadline and yet we still continue to let people into this country and then give them free healthcare!
If we weren't seen as such a soft touch then there wouldn't be so many people coming into this country.
We don't want to seem as if we lack compassion but where is the compassion to the law abiding,tax paying people of this country that are denied healthcare due to lack of funds!

Why can't they come into the country LEGALLY????? Tons of folks have done it/do it every day!

by offering an amnesty on the illegals surely it would make them start to pay into your system and be easier to keep track on them they are already in your country what difference will it make to legalize them i hope our government do the same soon so that the 1000s of illegals here can come out of the sweatshops and start earning the minimum wage and paying taxes like the rest of us

I must admit, I am a big fan of Obama. He seems to be the polar opposite of George W Bush (in my opinion, George Bush Senior mis-spelled his son's middle name, as it should have been an anagram of "Newark" rather than being named after a popular brand of crisps in the UK)...

Yea, I'm not going to argue the points anymore, we each have our own opinion. Which is what makes this whole thing difficult.

I will apologize to Tanya because I did read incorrectly her comment about ER. Other than that we will have to agree to disagree. I do know two things and that is the only choice we have right now is to pay out the nose for health insurance or don't have any. And has far as jobs, I guess you haven't experienced a job loss lately. It isn't that easy to get a job if you lose one right now. Millions are w/o one right now and w/o health insurance.

I'm still not sure what 9/11 has to do with healthcare, but anyways.......

As far as legalizing imigrants in the US, it isn't that easy from what I've heard from some who have done it and it is expensive. They have to hire an attorney. Crazy uh?? And some don't want to become citizens. Even crazier, why wouldn't they??? lol

we are going to florida after xmas,myself mrs nouvatan and my 2 kids aged 10 and 9 were hoping to visit miami as well were there for 17 days and our driving licence is accepted over there we have already booked the cars

I like the choice, I can use the NHS or could go private if I had the funds. I would rather pay into a scheme where I am assured help rather than one where I could end up not being insured as I have been sick in the past or I didn't fill in the right form.

We're all people first and foremost. If I was being persecuted I would hope someone would take me in. Yes people exploit the system but in their eyes they are doing the best for their "own."
