My daughter has had 2 pamer parties,(before i got into the industry). The 1st time she was 7 and the lady brought along some dressing up outfit's. And the 2nd time they played on karaoke machine. But you will find that alot of the girls like to watch whats going on. Another idea is maybe a little jewellery making kit for them, but i know that will add to the cost. The company i used was itsa-girlthing.co.uk check them out for some ideas.

I think I read this from somebody elses post but though it was a good idea. Have outlines of a nail on sheets of paper and get the kids to design some nail art on it (using colouring pencils etc) you could have it as a little competition or maybe not (dont want any of them to be disappointed if they don't win). That would keep them amused whilst you were doing the treatments hths

I do that! To make it last longer I get them to draw around their own hands ( make sure you use non-toxic easy to wash off pencils/pens) and decorate the 'nails' they can add bracelets rings etc. to the picture too.

A really fun game we have discovered lately is blindfold make up! you do need another adult to supervise though

Get some (or make) pretty sleepover type eye masks, spread an old but clean blanket on the floor and get them to take turn putting make-up on each other whilst blindfolded. Use safe and soft products like lipstick, blusher etc so they don't poke each others eyes out! (hence the supervision)

It's a great way of using up your bits of make-up and they can all wash it off ready for their real make-up turn

great fun for adult parties too

This is what I do, depending on the age group.

For older children, I glue-gun tips to long coffee-stir-sticks (like skinny wooden popsicle sticks).
And let them use real nail polish and cheapo artsy stuff to design their own nails. I glue them onto the sticks at the free-edge and not the base so that the child can hold the stick with the tip over their natural nail and see what it would look like.

If I'm only doing nails, say for a group of 10kids. I do it 'round robin' in two groups.
First group of 5 at the table all soaking (after edible sugar scrub & washing of hands. They get a big kick out of the edible scrub). Then go around 1 by one, filing and tidying the nails. Then around again for base coat. Then around again for colour. Then around again for art. Then for top coat & stones.
They have to sit to let their nails dry AND by the time you get back to the first one, the coat of polish is dry enough for the next step.
Also, doing it that way, for the group at the table, it's not too long for any of them because you're doing them all at the same time. AND for the other group, there is arts and crafts (nail design) for them to do AND/OR if you have an assistant, they can co-ordinate the 2nd group.

Moms LOVE this because they just sit back, do nothing but take pictures.

That might have been me - I wrote in a while ago about the colouring contest. This works really well for the 8-12 ish age group.

However, I found that older girls (young teens especially) will surround your table and. not. budge. I've done parties when I've been there for 3 hours, and the whole group is either sitting at my table or going through my nail art books/supplies/etc. For the whole time! I try to throw a little educational conversation in, as some of the girls have already tried acrylic enhancements in one form or another - things like finding a reputable tech and not trying out those Rio kits out of the Argos catalogue, not letting anyone take an e-file to their natural nails, myths about nail care (eating gelatin and milk does NOT make your nails strong!)... that kind of thing. They absorb a lot in a few hours, and they hang on every word! So fill their heads with good stuff

One thing I've noticed...
The younger they are, the better they behave LOL (I once had a group of 16yr olds that were so horrid, they made axe murderer's look tame LOL)
The older they get, the more hyped up they are and inclined to be excitable, gossipy etc.
The younger ones seem to listen better.

And DEFINATELY take every opportunity to educate!!
