I actually get this told to me quite a bit, but I'm not surprised as I am a qualified Architectural Technician and work full-time as a Construction Project Manager - yes hard hats and boots! but have just completed my level 2 in Beauty Therapy

I breed chickens and have a pet cow who I used to milk! My clients cant believe that when I leave the salon I like nothing more than getting on my wellies and attending my farm! (well small holding)

I'm at Uni studying Ancient History and Classical Civilisation, hope to do a Masters after it and then possibly a PHD.

I also work part time at the DVLA at the moment but I shall be quitting next summer. Bit of a strange combination of things Ancient History, Beauty and Driving Licences lol

I served an apprenticeship as an electrician with a petrochemical company, then trained as an instrument tech so I could work doing both. This was also a hard hats and steely toecap boots, but I had the delightful boiler suit to go with it to lol. Then did a degree in electrical engineering part-time while working.
Sat my finals when 6mth pregnant with first child then became a stay at home mum.

6 years later, decide to train in spray tanning lol.

Oh, also I have a licence to drive tractors and played badminton for scotland when 14yrs old x

Not qualified as yet. Almost there, but when I'm not practicing, I build paper models. Busy with Optimus prime as vehicle mode from Transformers.

I do panto and am playing captian hook this year.
I spend an hour every day walking my retriever and listening to 80's music, christmas songs or ricky gervais on my ipod
I've worked in a law office, for a life assurance sales office, as a home care assistant, in a nursing home, as a PA and had mcjobs over the years too!
I have an Institute of Management Diploma so could put letters after my name which I have NEVER done lol!
I have an a level in law which proved I have no memory for dates at all yet I can tell you my entire extended family's birthdays and anniversaries by heart!

OHhh what a great thread, I travelled around Australia for 3 months before settling down to have my kids, whom are 5yo and 2yo.

OHh and I have just had to defer my uni degree until 2010 due to being under too much stress with young chilldren being a mature student and studying a very hard subject Psychology, was doing my bsc hnrs degree at edge hill, love psychology and criminology ohh and love british history, esp Tudor period, love anything to do with Henry lllv.wow what a man lol. Oh and wanted to study Philosophy at degree level, but had to settle for psychology.

I am not qualified yet, but before i came to this walk of life i have had many interesting jobs which i wont get into.
I am a pagan, seems there are a few, i am chair of my childs school PTA (which i actually set up) AND im a governor. i love all aspects of digital photography and have tried the old fasioned dark room stuff too.
i am also a meen crafter and designed and made most things for my own wedding. i did all the stationary including invites, table plan, and even the card receiving box was made of terracota clay from my pottery class.
i have dabbled with jewellery making and tiara making, and im a member of my local spiratualist church.

i fell off stilts! i know i know! stupid i hear you say, but i was very good (and still am) at circus skills, i can juggle with various items, use the diablo, stilk walk, and tight rop walk too. i had just moved up from smaller metal stilts to larger woden ones when i slipped and fell backwards fear kicked in and instead of rolling and tucking, i simply held my arms out behind me to save my back, and broke both my wrists lmao.

I really like knitting – I’m currently making a crazy-looking green and white striped cat for my bloke. I love knitting funky stuff and last year knitted a whole Christmas tree complete with decorations for my mum and dad!
I love music of a whole host of styles: classical, indie, rock, swing, folk, motown ... and more! I’ve been playing the flute (classically trained) since I was 10 and now teach the flute and recorder part time to kids at a musical education charity on Saturdays – it’s so much fun. I also sung in choirs for years and I’m hoping to get back into it one day.
I also really love dancing. In the past I’ve done ballet, tap, modern , contemporary and rock ‘n’ roll. At the moment I’m only doing lindy hop but I always return to ballet classes eventually.
I have a weird psychic ability, I can predict the mundane. When I worked in a shop I was “informed” what people were going to ask for before they did, and in meetings at work I know what people are going to say before they do. It’s not so good with the “big stuff” though. When I was on holiday in Mexico I became convinced one day that my granddad (mum’s side) had died. It turned out that my mum’s best friend died that day. So, I got the connection that it was a death of someone close to my mum, just got the person wrong ... oops!
