Hiya Rose
my hubby suffers from eczema quite badly.. he is now using products from the Forever Living Products range, it's Aloe Vera in it's purest form, the company is certified by the International Aloe Science Council. I'm not a rep for them or anything else like that BUT it's got to be worth giving it a try, it's so good you can even gargle with it on a sore throat (providing you don't swallow the product), it's also excellent on bites, burns etc and stops the 'itch cycle' virtually straight away. anyway... back to the point... hope that helps a little. x |

I used to be a plasma donor and always had plaster rash on my left arm, a friend recommended some lavender cream from Tesco, I think it was the Tisserand make. It did clear up very quickly.
I do feel for you as this small patch used to drive me to distraction so to have it on your hands must be so difficult at times. Cathy |

Hi,
I have really severe ezcema on my face, back, chest, knees, scalp and arms it's horrible i take Lymicline tablets for achne and it does help i use aloe vera plant extract i extract it my self cut the plant and scrape out the inside sounds yuckky but does wonders i use cocis on my scalp nivea everywhere else just slapped on and not rubbed in overnight. I did suffer with it on my hands but not so much now i placed loads of e45 on my hands before i went to bed and put plastic see through gloves on and place a lose elastic band round my wrists so that the gloves would not slip off it took away the dryness and helped with the soarness in time. Hi Rose
I'm sure you know what you've got and am not questioning that. However, I just wanted to mention that some technicians have developed dermatitus, as an allergic reaction, on the palm of the hand and last 2 fingers that hold their clients fingers (i.e. not their dominent hand). This has usually been caused by dust dropping in the palm during finishing and usually from uncured monomer not thoroughly removed from gel or UV l&p. Anyone reading this that does not have eczema but has this area affected may wonder why. Marian PS I've heard thet Ugentum Merck and Oilatum are good |

Hi Rose, if it is eczema and not dermatitis then you may find this thread useful http://www.thenailgeek.com/showthrea...ghlight=eczema, I got some great advice from it.
There are also good barrier creams available which you apply at the start of your working day. My daughter has also found a great emolient called double base, she gets it on prescription. |

hi everyone,
as a child i suffered with severe eczema, but as iv'e got older i don't get it so bad the odd flare up here and there but my skin is excessivley dry now and i hate it, since doing nails i do get patches of eczema on my hands i have tried so many potions and lotions but nothing really helps, the only way i keep it at a bareable level is by bathing with emulsifying ointment, and applying an unperfumed moisturiser everyday. hth mandy x |
