Customer rights help please -

I placed an order on the internet a few days ago... Was quoted item prices and shipping but was informed in the FAQ sections on delivery that internation orders would need to be customer approved before they were completed.
Today I receive notification of shipping, but the shipping price has more than doubled and 80% of the order is out of stock! They quoted the shipping price at 3lb 5oz but the order in the end was only 6 polishes and a pack of nail files - 3lb 5oz my a**e!!
I have emailed them to say, look, I didn't authorise this amount or these order details, stop the parcel and return my money, with no reply as yet.
Does anyone know what my rights are here?
Presumably as the amount and details are not the original order I approved they have no right to make me pay and accept the order, but if they don't stop it before it leaves the country, what do I do when it arrives - refuse to sign for it and send it right back to them so I don't pay for shipping?
It really disappoints me, I have dealt with quite a few companies and everything has been fine so far, but I am now sitting here stressing and waiting for an email reply and wondering how to stop the order, because I'm sure as hell not paying $80 for what they're sending!!
