Delivery hell -
17-12-10, 07:33 PM
have had a hard time with a company not deliverying a birthday present in time, the communication has been part of the problem, they just haven't communicated, when I've rang them up to chase it I have just got "sigh" "adverse weather" "try again", do companies not realise how damned frustating this is!
Anyway, rant over, my question is, is everyone having a hard time at work or home waiting on orders that may not arrive on time and what are you going to do about it? |

Having lots of problems at the moment. I think it's a combination of the unexpected weather conditions, the Christmas rush, and delivery companies not putting in the extra staffing that they should.
We're moaning about it this year but every year on the news we hear, "Internet orders may not be received in time for Christmas. I'm not unreasonable in expecting something I order at 7pm one night to be on my doorstep at 9am the next morning. However, I do expect things to be here when they are supposed to be, and it isn't happening at the moment. |

the knock-on effect is shocking.
I've had to buy another present which cost £250, this was my money to pay for food and entertainment over the christmas period. I now have not got that money. the company is enjoying interest on my money that they have banked and I have to wait for a refund which is 5-10 working days on return of item. So, looks like I'm not eating or having "fun" until mid January. |

Guess who spent a fraught weekend on the end of a phone, had a few tears of frustation and upset, loss of sleep. Now I have to wait until the company state THEY have received the item, and then it will be 5-10 days. The companies AS SOON AS THEY REALISE a backlog is being created, should state on the website that, not boast 3 days delivery. I only ordered it online as it was £17 cheaper and I was watching the pennies! oh hindsight. |
