Hi Jennifer.
Have you seen the nail yet? Pingers with a nail system are a rarity and if you are talking about only one nail on a set, you are most likely talking about a client induced ping. Sure, there are plenty of things you could have done to possibly contribute to the ping (i.e. undercuring, over filing, crappy prep, etc...) however if this was the case it most likely would have occured on more than one nail. On that note, you would most likely see it more regularly on a few more clients. Your best bet is to take a look at the nail. Is the nail shreded underneath or is it as smooth as a babbies bum? If its the former, then the fact is that it was forced off Hope this helps. ps. here is an article on pingers. |

This is for the newbies & all
Who have encountered the "IT JUST POPPED OFF Lady". I have had them. You have had them. If you havn't already you will get them...... The "It Just Popped Off Lady!!!!!!" So OK I am not the Greatest Tech in the world but I do have the gist of the Glue & Stick On part of the process... More so than the average client. At least I hope so.....[I do lol] BUT theres always ONE[2-3-4] in the bunch[client list LOL] That will try the patience of a saint.[Im not a saint either lol] How do I tell the difference between a Nail that has POPPED OFF To a Nail that has been removed with force??????????? Well here's my trick... I put the Nails on. OK so I assessed them before that. So I do know what condition they were in before Enhancements were applied. All clients details. Lifestyle - Hobbies etc to determine the BEST application to suit. Done. Only to find 2 days later "ITS POPPED OFF" . Errrrrrr why only X amount. The difference between a NAIL that has "POPPED OFF" or ONE that has had an accident IMHO is.. THE NAIL PLATE.... If the Nail Plate has shine to it. No indication of TRAUMA. ie: Peeling. Tearing. Bruising [maybe]. Half a nail[ouch] etc. Then yes chances are it 'POPPED OFF'. This can sometimes happen. Check the condition of your supplies. Problems lessen as you Advance & Troubleshoot problem area's. No need to buff the natural nail MORE or MAYBE it just was a tad not enough.. Check your PREP. ALL Cutilcle - Non Living - Living tissue removed from NAIL PLATE. Cuticle remover - Cuticle Oil removed according to the system. ALL shine removed from Nail Plate. All dust & debris removed from Nail Plate. Nail Plate dehydrated with appropriate sanitizer. [I use CND ScrubFresh]. Your monomer liquid is clean - NOT CLOUDY[product residue] Dappens dish - Dispenser free from dust. Do Not pour unused product back into your main supply.EVER Brush - Liquid - Powder ALL CLEAN. [Do Not clean your brush with ACETONE.] Remove all product from your brush. Soak in a dappen's dish with clean Liquid [monomer] approx 30 mins [I have done this overnight]. If this doesnt help TOSS IT. The wipe you use to clean your brush throughout the service Is it LINT FREE?????... Reducing fibres etc being encased in the Enhancement. A NAIL THAT HAS BROKEN WITH FORCE. These are usually thinner than when you applied the Enhancements. You may notice a PINKER-REDER colour to the NAIL PLATE . Heightened sensitivity to even light buffing.[Girfriend Buff] White SCALES on the NAIL PLATE A few across the NAIL PLATE that Peel-Tear-Split [length ways & or across ways]. The clients that have repairs often will tell you "Ohhhh I had to really bash that one for it to come off"..... And you really can tell the difference between the 2. Thats my little way of dealing with this situation.. As they repeat the horrid "POP OFF" story to any and all that will listen ...I am doing my own little assessment Confident in the FACT. That once she has completed her story. I will then give her the OUTCOME OF MY ASSESSMENT Usually by then backed up by a loyal client. Who will vouch on dead relatives lives "ITS NEVER HAPPENED TO THEM" even after the force of titan was applied [lol]. A repair is a repair. It costs you to do it. Time - Product -Reputation Customer relations are a BIG PART of this NOT JUST WHAT WE WANT. I have in the past been mortified that one of my NAILS[on client's] could actually "POP OFF" LOL.. But it does happen. By going through my checklist in my mind I then assess & can proceed with the correct information to FIX this problem. I dont get many "POP OFF"s any more..... [Words got out maybe that ya get sussed when ya tellin porkies...LOL] And if I do I charge for the repair. I explain WHY & HOW I can assess this. If it is a Structural Fault I will do the repair at a reduced price... Not often as I checked ALL nails as I finished them - previous service.. Alot of the time you will find. If you can engage the client in the assessment process [consult with her]. They will admitt SOMEWHERE down the line that "WELL YEH I DID BUMP IT WHEN I WAS................" Dont be to ready to BLAME your self...... & as Kathys ODE to A NAIL TECH [apfa site] leaves you with a warm fuzzy feeling and the CHIN UP KICK BUTT message you needed to hear just before you were ready to put the LOT in the bin or burn it in the back yard.[LOL]. Keep in mind it isnt ALWAYS YOU!!!!! hth XX J XX |
