Plasters... -
10-07-05, 11:53 AM
Hi all,
With me not knowing what is going on with my hands at the mo (might be dermatitus ~ not sure yet!). Some of my fingers have got cuts at the side where i have been catching my delicate skin with a file. This may seem like a really stupid question but what plasters are the best to use!?! |

I am very sensitive to plasters so I always use Micropore. I make my own "plaster" with it as it can become very sticky. I put a piece in the middle so it faces sticky side to sicky side so it won't stick to the wound.

I get really sore fingers from the filing, usually at the end of each week! I use sticky bandage tape from boots, as i find plasters dont last and i file through them!

Hi Louise,
I always use Flex Wrap. It is a self adhesive wrap which you just tear as you need it . We sell these rolls in Skin or White at £2.95 or colours for £2.25.As has been said plasters are not really any good for this purpose . The roll is 5yards long so will last you some time . I always wear some on my left thumb( the one I hold clients hands with ) and on my right index and middle finger . I find that it helps with the friction wear you get from continually holding the files . You can find the wrap on our site www.lightelegance.co.uk under Files buffers and Sundrie items . The price I quoted is inclusive apart from posting which on one wrap will be about £1 Kind Regards Karen Light Elegance Uk |

I also use the flex wrap as it sticks to itself and not your skin. But I use it for a different reason to you all. When I am buffing with the white block I always have the clients finger in the palm of my hand and was finding that I was scratching the underside of my wedding ring. So when i am doing enhancements I put a band of flex wrap around my wedding ring.

Ive used flexiwrap, and personally i dont like it. It gets sticky when i am buffing to a high shine, and it annoys me! For me its definately the sticky bandage wrap as its so much tougher, and about 1/3 of the price too. I actually bought my last lot from Bewise, it was 3 fairly big rolls, which have lasted me about 3 months, and it cost £2 for the lot!
