An old war wound has come back to haunt me...

About 4 years ago I gave my husband a thump...he was drunk...I was pregnant...and I broke the little finger on my right hand...so who came off worse there then lol

Well, last night I bashed a bag of ice cos it was all stuck together...as it does, and the same finger is twice it's usual size and rather painfull.

When I broke it last time they said I had an osteo chondroma (sp?) meaning that the bone was soft, not solid inside and they wanted to do a bone graft from my hip to my little finger...well taking bone from my hip, not a complete hip to finger graft....ouch I thought and passed it by.

I did ask them what would happen if I didn't have it done and they said that the finger would always be weak and would break again at some point in time.

I wasn't a nail technician then....

I went to work today, dosed up with pain killers....luckily I only had 3 clients....but it was hard work and more than a wee bit sore.

So have decided to go to the docs on Monday....no point in sitting in Casualty tonight for them to strap it up and tell me to come back to the clinic on Monday.

Hubby was telling me ooohh it will be at least 10 months for you to recover from a bone graft...I'm like when did you become an orthopaedic specialist...men!!!

Oh and they better not make me take my glitter nails off for the X-Ray!!
