Hi
Try the South Beach Diet - that is really good as well. Its based on low carbs and is healthy (not like Atkins) I started on it last year - exactly a year ago in fact and so far I have lost 5 and half stone! Only got just over a stone to go now! If you stick to it in the first 2 weeks you can loose up to 10 pounds. Look in a local book shop - Asda might have one and you might find a book about it with recipes and tips on the South Beach Diet. I know there is a web site about it but you have to pay to register. I think the book is around £8.00 and it explains how to do the diet. Love Debbie xxx |

I'm not down on all the technical terms so I'll tell you in the words of Layla
There's 'thingst in the cream that penetrate through your skin. These things 'dissolve' you fat into water, which you then, ahem, wee out! Don't ask how, but it deff works. And without wanting to gross you all out, you can tell it working, cos your wee feels thicker when you're passing it out, iiiffff you get what I mean lmao! Tis very good though |

My best mate swears by Slimming World, and now that their eating plans have been modified to conform with today's lifestyles, you can eat well and you can eat lots. She lost a total of 3 stones, and always goes back to it when she feels that she has strayed a bit.
Alcohol consumption is not forbidden, just controlled Good luck Amb. |

Hiya
Personally I think different diets work for different people, i've tried most of them and the thing that I find works the most and for quick results is cutting down on carbs. (now, I dont mean doing the atkins diet) women tend to hold a lot of fat around the middle and this is mostly fluid, if you cut down or better still cut out bread, potatoes, white rice and eat mostly protein and veg/salads with the occassional tread you will see a big difference in 3 weeks!!! Diet pills are not the answer and there could be a side effect which may cause you a problem and then you wont be able to go on holiday! Good luck in whatever you decide Tamzin --xx-- |

I am currently doing weightwatchers, but in the house. I've lost three stone since february and, let me tell you, I have not exactly been a good girl most of the time (chinese, fish suppers).
What I did was cut the crap I ate almost completely out. I lost 7lbs in my first week, but that is because I had alot to loose. It depends on how much you have to loose. If all else fails, just prop yourself up next to someone fatter than yourself and smile. |

Hi lovely ladies (whatever size you are!)
Just wanted to add that a friend of mine has cancer of the colon and her specialists have said it is possible it was triggered by her using slimming tablets. Dont know which ones or all the details just dont think it's woth the risk. Currently I have a dress which is a little on the tight side hung on a doorframe which i go through regularly to remind me not to eat crap! Will let you know if it works! xx |

So many of us has that problem.
Science says eat less calories than you burn and you WILL loose weight. Trouble is to know how much (or actually very little you need) And actually if you have been overweight your body is more likely to have higher needs, and some people actually has a dna which makes their bodies crave more. So nobody will not loose weight if they eat less calories than they burn, BUT you have to not starve yorself, otherwise your body will lower your metabolism. Eat loads of veggies and for a quick fix hold back on the bread, rice, pasta and potatoes, for the long term, have your dinner plate look like this: 1/2 of the plate veggies, 1/4 meat and 1/4 bread or potatoes or you know. And so sad but nearly everyone needs to exercise, especially with most of us having a job where we just sit. Oh and by the way in 1 kilogram of alkohol theres the same amount of calories as in 1 kilogram of fat, so we love our drinks but they don't slim us (and alkohol makes our metabolism work slower too) My stepmom is educated in dieting (don't know the term) and I have talked about it with her. ![]() Have a great holiday though! |

One thing to be VERY careful about with many of these slimming pills is that they can also block the absorption of any prescription medication that you may be taking, which can have negative consequences.

It works, but only if you are obeese (is that the word?) You should have a BMI over 28 to benifit, and please remember one of the sideeffects is that you cannot hold your, well... uhmmm.... well you are most likely to "poop" your pants, and you body will smell really bad while using it...
![]() Oh just realised it was an old thread, but still useful though, and didn't think to look at the date as it's holiday season.... |
