I had a great day today at Earls Court and couldn't wait to get home and unpack all my goodies.

I bought what looked like a good all in one arm rest double extractor fan and dryer from an oriental stall, which I think was called Euro Fashion thats the name on the bag but there is no company name on the receipt, which I had to write out myself as the girl couldn't write in English !!!!


When I've opened it this evening it's a 2 pin plug which I didn't realise! Fortunately I've got a converter plug so feeling relieved I didn't have to wait till tomorrow to get a plug couldn't wait to plug it in and get it going.

Only to discover only one of the extractor fans work, the other one is really stiff and will not go round. Hubby thinks the bearing must be broken and said he will have to look at it after work tomorrow eve, I don't want to wait that long. I paid £70 for this unit and expected it to be in good working order I feel absolutely gutted, and I can't get back there tomorrow to tell them.

I was so excited when I bought it didn't think to check the details on the top of the receipt. Their web site (on the bag) is under construction and I've just got the feeling it will be for a long time.

So annoyed with myself for not asking to check it first. doh!!!! Suppose I've learnt my lesson for the future.

Sorry to harp on but had to share.

Am sorry to hear about that purchase, can you get someone to take it back for you t'moro.

I wouldn't just leave it at that, i would try and get my money back or at least a replacement.

If anybody else bought one of these I would be really interested to know if yours works and what you think of it.

I winder if anyone reads this post that is going tomorrow could just call at the stall ad ask them hat you could do in order to get a working item.

Maybe they ca give a phoe numer or address o give to you.

Christi, I don't want to leave it at that but got a feeling I wouldn't get anywhere even if I could get back there tomorrow. Fingers crossed hubby will be able to fix it.

Really want to go back tomorrow but got a funeral to go to and about 101 other things I need to try to fit into the day.

Oh what a shame! It looked the nuts too! It would cost you a fair bit to go back anyway with petrol and parking, traffic would be a nightmare too I would think! Hope Hubby can get it sorted for you. I bought a gel lamp that came with a 2 pin plug, hubby put a 3 pin plug on it for me which I was a bit worried about but apparantly its fine as long as its 240v so see if you can do that? If he cant get it working I will get Adie to look at it for you cos he's pretty handy with that sort of thing normally.... funny, I was just telling him how lovely it was..... x

I def wouldnt just let this go and put it down to experience go back and get either a refund or another one and check it out before you leave £70.00 is a lot of money put your foot down hun and demand they sort it out!

Ooh, I'd definitely try and get it back to them. £70 is a lot of money and it should be in perfect working order. Do you not know anyone at the show today who could make enquiries for you? This is not on.

I wouldn't undo one screw on it as the excuse that you tampered with it COULD be used??!!!!!
Do try to get it to them in the same way you bought it.Best of Luck

Maybe you can back track the supplier via the model and make description....
does it have a name or manufacturers lable underneath.....
I know its harder this way, but you may be able to source the UK Earls Court seller this way..................But deffo email the organisers of the Earls Court event and see if they have company data for them..................email addy is:

Thanks girls for all your suggestions. Hubby has now fixed it thank god. In future whenever I buy anything I will definitely be asking for a demo first and a proper receipt and guarantee!!!! I was just so excited when I saw it and I'm sure it was the last one. Looking forward to trying it out on my next client tomorrow eve.
