Have you ever tried to donate a good rep point to someone for a good thread, nice comment, helpful suggestion, etc only to be told that you need to spread the reputation around a bit before you can give that person some more good rep? You look around the threads and see nothing obvious, your good rep point probably dies a death there and then.

Well, there's no need for that to happen. Have you being paying attention to what goes on in here? How come there's no cussin' & screamin' at each other as is so prevalent on most other forums? How come when a minor problem crops up in Geek it's sorted BEFORE it becomes a real problem for all users? How come there isnt anyone blatantly using their posts to advertise services or products which are not nail or beauty related? I see the bad rep point thingamygig has got a lot of air time recently for all the wrong reasons, how about trying to redress the balance and use it for what it was intended? Rewarding good works with positive rep points?

Bearing in mind what I said above, I nominate Ruth for mega rep points for today Thursday 29th September. Why? Because she's always there to offer advice & help if required, encouragement and praise when deserved (isnt it always), guidelines when needed, and a super 'sounding board' for up and coming nail techs. This is all in addition to what she does behind the scenes. She's been a mega asset to The Nail geek since becoming an administrator.

ahhh...what a cool thread and such nice things to say about Ruth..all true !!!!

I try to remember when i want to pos rep and have to share the love around...it might be a little late sometimes but i will get round to it.

As for donating points...i would like to donate but getting pos reps for doing so has put me off, i would rather you didn't get anything for donating points..cos i think it spoils the true meaning of the rep system ...great threads..(like this one).

I think as a whole we all get on very well...now and then we may have a blip, but don't think its a personal thing...just peeps getting passionate about what they believe in, then its forgotton again.

I think we all input greatly one way or another...some add humor, some give fab information, some give food for thought, some are a brill shoulder to cry on...we all have out place on this site for one reason or another and its that that makes it so cool..xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Totally agree.........with both of you and especially about the donating points Angie.....rep points should be all about giving good advice ....and I do like the fact that you do need to spread the rep points about as it does stop any abuse of the system.......and as for Ruth, I don't think I can put it any better than you Sean....but you did'nt mention what a good laugh she can be as well....what with the voddies and orange!!! Go girl!

Oh thanks guys you have made my night and it has made me feel very warm inside and no I havn't had any Voddy and Orange yet...... just a nice cuppa.......Rep points oh love em or hate em eh guys....... Well if someone is giving brill advise and you just feel you have to rep them, but have to spread a bit loving about first, then just PM the person and tell them direct, this is like getting a cyber thank you card and a cool other option to let the person know that you either helped, made them laugh or you just appreciate them......

The rep system is set up so one person can not manipulate the system and give just positive rep points because its their mate...... and on the same note, one person can not dish out negative reps in a row to the same person, because this person has ticked them off and they want to kick some shins.......
