I've just started to use the Nature's Sunshine range & become a distributor for it. They have a fab new product called Zambrosa which is just bursting with Naturally produced anti-oxidants. I've just started to take it, but it takes about 2 weeks for it to become effective. Worth a try www.zambroza.com

Seriously though.....excercise is good...I am off to a class to-day...but my Fitness Instructor Gail, suffers from SAD...and her husband built her a light box, which she uses and swears by...she says sitting under it really helps and the gloom just lifts........

Hi Glo,
Sorry to hear that you are feeling glum. I also suffer from SAD quite badly and normally starts this time of year for me and gets gradually worse. I suppose I've been spoiled by growing up in Sunny South Africa where it never gets colder than 15 C ! You can try St. John's Wort which is a natural anti-depressant, but be careful ..... if you are on any contraceptive, you can't use it because it causes severe bleeding. You could also try a light box, but they are expensive and you need to spend a considerable time in front of them which makes it a bit inconvenient. But, if you do nails, maybe you can have it by the side of the table while you're working which would make it easier. I also agree that spending time with people you like that could cheer you up does work wonders. Exercise is good as well, but I know the feeling of looking out of the window thinking "I'm not going out to the gym in that weather". Perhaps you can do some light exercises at home .... If all else fails, you can always come on the good old geek site and have a chat with us. We'll do our best to cheer you up River |

Ahhh poor you....I get like this sometimes too...what works for me is a girly get together...arrange it at someones elses house....get together, watch a funny film, tell funny stories...and have a good belly laugh.
Another thing that works is a good old cry...sometimes we feel like crying but dont quite no why..well you dont have to have a reason...it releases built up pressure and makes you feel better. hope your feeling better soon...see you at gmex...hugs xxx |

Hi Glo, welcome back hunny xxx
you could try burning some essential oils, some good ones to lift you up are..... Balsam pine - clean, purifying, vitality-promoting Lemon - uplifting, anti-depressant Orange - mood-elevating Peppermint - refreshing, mental stimulant Rosemary - invigorating Thyme - refreshing, purifying, herbal, peppery (caution: this oil may produce a burning sensation on the skin) I got that info here. you could also get some uplifting fragranced shower gel to refresh and wake you up in the morning. hope you start to feel brighter soon xxx
