A few days ago i heared from my dad that my plans for the home salon in my new house wouldn't go ahead until after christmas. As the room needs damp proofing and plastering. i'm soooooo upset that i have to wait to paint the room etc.

oh dear..that's not good!! how come it's going to take so long?

can you see clients elsewhere? do you have to wait till the rooms done?

Oh what a same but putting the damp course in is quite a big job, maybe you could find another room to work in until this is done.

Where do you work now Sarah? Can you not make the most of the space you are currently using for your influx of clients you might get for the Xmas rush?

Why dont you do some mobile work until the room is ready. As others have said you dont want to lose out on the Christmas trade. You never know you may pick up a few long term clients along the way between now and then.

Its worth a go. If you have all your equipment alreay, you just need something to carry it all in and your away!

if i have any clients i see them at my mum and dad's,but need to set my things up and put them all away ever time!

I move in nov,can't wait!but the salon wouldn't be ready! and i really wanted it ready before christmas incase i have any clients before then etc.


The only thing about mobile is that i still haven't passed my driving test, if i had i would deffernatly be thinking of mobile while i was waiting,for the salon to be ready!

the same thing would apply if you were mobile...
definitely worth it if you want to be able to carry on with clients until your room is ready.

there is nothing stopping you working from somewhere like the dining room up until your home salon is ready...thats what alot of home based technicians do.
when i moved last year i worked that christmas from my dining room table and it didnt stop me getting lots of xmas business.
when your room is ready you will allready have a good client base from xmas to welcome to your new home salon

have you put in for your test yet sarah?
cos mobile or home based in a spare room would be best bet until your new room is ready, maybe you could do one of them crash courses in driving not literally CRASH though lol!!!!!!!!!!!!!

firstly!i for got to say about doing them at my mum & dad's means there have to keep a room tidy every time i have any clients.........next in my new house i have two rooms down stair other than the kitchen and the bathroom one is where the salon will be and the other is going to be my dining room both of which need the damp proofing and plastering dune to them,i really don't want clients walking all round my house!



I'm thinking of doing a crash course driving course sometime soon,in i think blackpool.
