As promised.. Fitness Regime... - 13-10-05, 03:53 PM

This is the fitness regime we talked about in a thread about a week ago and a couple of you requested i put it on here. My sister's crew mate is a personal fitness instructor and gave her this programme bcoz she kept moaning she was fat and didn't have time to go to the gym. (he has had clients who weighed 20st when they took him on and he gets them down to about 10st in 10 months). He told her that if she did it 3 times a week she would lose weight. She decided to stick to it to see if she could prove him wrong . . . and lost 6lb without dieting!!! So if you're interested in losing weight/getting fit, it just proves you don't need to join a gym and all this can be done at home. (and my sister is as bad at me at dieting so i know she's not fibbing)

1. 30 press ups (your allowed to do girly knee press ups if you can't manage full ones)
2. 30 crunchies/sit ups
3. 30 step ups (each leg!) (your bottom stair will do)
4. 30 shoulder presses (with a weight (i.e. can of beans), hold weight at shoulder and push up)
5. 30 twist sit ups (opposite elbow to knee) (you only need to do crunchie type sit ups)
6. 30 star jumps (back to school!)
7. 30 bicep curls with a weight (again, can of beans will do)
8. 30 more crunchies/sit ups
9. 30 step ups (each leg)

The routine should be done 3 times and you have to do it as fast as you can (that's the secret behind it), even if you get knackered keep going as fast as you can. My sister said it took her 55 mins first time and after 3 weeks she can do it in 25 mins. And you need to do it 3 times a week. There is another level after 4 weeks if you want it. Let me know and I'll ask her.

ps. i'm not responsible for any injuries you might incur falling off your bottom stair! Don't forget to do the full movement or you won't work your muscle to full capacity (don't sacrifice half a bicep curl just to make up your time)

Yes, each set of exercises has to be performed 3 times each time you do it, and you have to do it 3 times a week (mon, wed & fri... weekend off).

The secret behind it is to do it as fast as you can. Like i said, my sis took 55 mins the first time but after 2 weeks she could do it in 25 mins. even if you have to sit down for a few secs to get your breath, start again as soon as you can. she says its harder than it looks when your doing it as fast as you can.

she lost 2lb a week and didn't diet.

Blimey I'm exhausted just reading that! I don't want to lose any weight but would like to attempt to tone my "I've had 3 kids" tummy - maybe have left it a bit late (my baby is 12!!) I find sit ups hurt my back
