NVQ question -
14-10-05, 12:57 PM
Just something I thought of...
If you are NVQ qualified, does that mean you can use any make of products?? Or can you only use the stuff they teach you with?? My college uses beauty essentials stuff and its real cheap crap. dont really like the idea of paying all that money for a decent qualification and then im stuck using rubbish products xxx |

It depends on each company's policy. I think if you have a level 3 in nail technology it may mean you can do a conversion course with a company rather than having to go through the foundation course, or having to wait a year to do the conversion. I'm sure someone will clarify if this is so.

Once you have your NVQ or VCTC that should be honoured by any manufacturer ... after all it is a government accreditation and should mean you can work competently. I know at Creative they accept these qualifications for an immediate conversion class if you want to use Creative products.

Technically speaking, NVQ/VTCT means you dont even need a conversion with CND - however I think you would be a bit nuts considering that the induction course is about £50 less than buying product open stock. Not to mention the free training
