I find it quite intimidating when older kids come to the door in their groups. They don;t even make an effort. I wouldn't let mine go for years because I said it was an American thing and not at all British!!! I relented in the end, but I still feel uncomfortable about it all.
Mind I'm a right humbug cos we never go to any Guy Fawkes displays either as fireworks frighten the pants off me, and I have to stay in and look after the dogs, cos Max hates them too! |

boys want to go trick or treating tomorrow night....so i will take them at about 6 cause it grips me when you have kids knocking late...basically looking for ciggy money.
i dont like taking the boys trick or treat cause in a way its kind of a pain for other people...you watching tv and kids knock looking for sweats...but will do it for the boys and i am only doing the street we live in..... dont really like fireworks cause they frighten the life out of toddy....my westie so dont like leaving him on his own at night during firework month. i though it was against the law to have fireworks after 11pm....cause they go on all hours round here |

I hate fireworks and feel for everyone's pets. My cat hides on the wardrobe. sadly I've been nominated to hold a bonfire party this year as we have a piece of land were we have recently chopped down loads of trees - so lots to burn and 20+ people coming! I'm staying indoors to do the food and will pass it out - don't want people tredding mud all over my house - I'm such a misery I am!!

I LOVE Halloween....!!
I went to Canada when i was 10 and its was great iv never seen anything like it in my life. Ever since then iv been hooked. My kids are 11 and 9 and i let them go up and down our street when some of there friends and they dress one of my dogs up and take her with them. They only go to house we know and there all home by 6.30. This was them last year. |

We are going out tomorrow night with the kids there are fireworks, a fair and lots more. Will most likely cost a bomb time we have finished but I am sure they will all have a good time will dress the kids up they do not know they are going yet think I am doing a little house party just for us.
I would not let my 12 year old go out trick and treatinging when we lived on a army base it was fine they all went out from a real young age but it was just like one big family everyone knew each other. Mind you it was a pain in the back side as your door would knock from 5pm till late as the older kids would be out late and you would get through pounds of sweets LOL!!!. Where I live now I get no one knock the door I think it is because I am in a town house in the middle of the town no kids around really. Caz xxx |

Ah Cec, it was the trick or treating I meant about being an American thing. In the good old days we used to have halloween parties and do apple bobbing and the like, I can still remember the water going up my nose now, I hated it!
