Hope you feel better soon - I think if it's too bad maybe some valium would help to relax it? I've got a neck roll heated wheat bag with lavender my hubby uses for his neck and it helps.Just another thought - would a surgical collar help?

Poor Louise!! Sounds miserable.
I trapped a nerve in my back a month or so ago and it was agony!! Went to bed for 3 days with the anti-inflammatories and woke up just fine on the 3rd day ... but I have never felt such an acute pain in my life ... took my breath away. Do as little as possible and take what the doctor suggests and I hope it eases up for you SOON. Maybe its the massaging as well as the oil that is helping ... anyhoo ... if it helps then do it!! |

Oh Lou, you poor devil. I now what you are going through Hun. I have a trapped nerve in my neck and it makes my left arm hurt all the time ranging from making it feel heavy and uncomfortable and it is always cold to feeling pins and needle and agony if I touch anything (not great when trying to do nails!) I went to the docs about 2 months ago and she has booked me in for a scan, but it can take 6-8 months to come through
. So until then, light massages from the hubby and lots of drugs! Try not to pick the little one up, try and adapt how you do things for a little while, sit on the floor and hug her if she needs a cuddle etc.. Sorry I can't offer anymore help. Thinking of you Sweetie x x |

Louise, My child minder has been laid up since before New Year with the same thing. Her Gp told her it was ligament strain. My hubby (a doctor) had suggested it could also be a viral myalgia (relating to the muscles) as I have had this before and then the virus starts affecting the balance area in the ear resulting in nausea and dizziness. I'm not disputing your Gp, but hubby was right as my childminder is now suffering from nausea and dizziness and the muscular pain has dissappeared but was incapacitating as mine was. All I'm suggesting is that if you start experiencing giddiness and nausea, then it could be viral for which you will probably need antinausea tablets. It's that time of the year unfortunately when all these bugs take hold. As suggest, vaium really helps because it is a muscle relaxant. Hope you feeling better soon.

oh my god!! i had the exact same thing when i was 18. i was doing exams at the time and one morning i was walking to school and moved my head too fasy and click, it went. they said it was because of the strain of leaning forward when writing. i have to sympathise with you it is SSSOOO PAINFUL!!! i got a neck brace which they encouraged me not o wear too much and laid on the sofa sideways for a week or two and didnt go to school for ages! dont know if you had this but i had spasms which could happen anytime...such as walking down the street. id be there walking along and then be on my knees in agony! ok a few tips.... i went for a lot of physio, it was fantastic!! id walk in with my hands holding my neck not daring to move, hair unwashed no make up and id leave all loose and being able to move my neck and get in the shower. it did seize up again after a while but it did wonders! i also used a heat pad when i was on the sofa as this loosend the muscles too. massage is great too. it gets better and it will ache for a while after but its such relief when it stops hurting!! be careful 6 months or so after cos the doc said its still tender and at risk of happening again. aww hun i hope you feel better soon, i totally know how you feel! take care and chin up lou x |
