Hi hun, my hubby is suposed to take 2 tramdol 4 times a day, they give you stomach ulsers, they are an opiet so long term they are addictive they are a nerve block so they affect the brain, ie, turn it to mush and stop you being able to think clearly or make rashional choices but most importantly for you they dehydrate the body!!!!!!! What moron put someone with kindney stones on a drug that dehydrates the system to such an extent that you need to be drinking an extra 2 liters of water a day to maintain normal body flueifity.
Hubby got a wheel chair and stoped taking the dam things, if I were you I would do a search on kidney stones and look at natural remidys for flushing your kidney out, at least you'll be more comfortable untill they remove the stones and it will stop toxins building up in your body. Some times I wonder why we go to doctors. take care love and for gods sake don't drink alcohol while you are on this poison. |

Thanks for that. I couldnt even look at a beer even if I wanted to. They annoying bit is Im still waiting for the results as to what they are going to do. I did read the leafltet which came with the tramadol and it said that they can be addictive over long term use so Im apprehensive about taking them anyway. They did offer me a type of morphine injection but I turned it down as I had stones about four years ago and they gave me one then but I had a really bad reaction to it. Im just assuming that as there is now an infection in there that there is possibly a blockage but the doctors dont seam that bothered. Hayhoo!

Hi Emma,
As someone who suffers with recurring kidney stones I can sympathise with the pain you are experiencing. It seems incredible that the hospital and/or your GP haven't looked at treating you quicker, especially as you can barely walk and are passing out on people - and if you're having difficulty passing water, this really needs to get sorted out pronto! My housemate is a senior staff nurse and reliably informs me that there are a multitude of different painkillers you can be given (whether oral, injectable, or ones you put elsewhere!!) if you have had a reaction to morphine derivatives in the past. He suggests going back to your GP as an emergency appointment and requesting alternative pain killers, or - if the pain is keeping you awake or making you pass out or vomit - get yourself back to the hospital, as this suggests the stones are on the move and needs to be sorted. I've had various treatments over the years ranging from having a stent fitted to courses of lithotripsy, but I've never once been sent home from a hospital in pain the way you describe - I'm astounded that this has happened, you poor thing! I hope you are feeling okay at the moment, and am sending you my best wishes. |
