I'm really frustrated at the moment.

I'll tell you the story. When I started my business a while back I sorted out my accounts in Excel. Like a muppet I didn't take a backup copy and have now lost everything. So I've got to start all over again.

I'm after a favour.

Does anyone else do their accounts in excel or have a salon accounts book that they can send me a copy of so that I can get an idea of what collumns I needed so that I can start my accounts from scratch again.

I wouldn't ask but I've now got to retype a whole years worth of accounts. I'm now about to pull out my hair.

how did u loose them?

a virus and using son's machine so that mine can be cleaned etc. Not impressed it came via an email and has wrecked everything.

I did exactly the same as you last year, I spilt wine on my laptop...no backup files...I had to do the whole lot from scratch....since then I have only ever done my books on paper...I have a self-assessment tracker book which is really good if you are a one man band.....everything there for you to fill out and makes your tax return really easy!

if you can get on the computer is there anyway you can try a system restore?

This might enable you to get the file back and save a copy of it, what virus is it? Have you done a virus scan to remove it?

Unfortunately it was a deadly one and it seems to have eaten every single file on the whole computer. So I'm still using my son's pc and he's not happy lol x

just had a thought (quite dangerous i know) how about putting the basics things that you pay out eg- rent, electric, telephone. things like that until you are able to find something then at least you have it all started.

it was just a thought and it might help until you find something else
