Hi Geeks,
Please go check out my sons website, which is his entry for the 2006 Edge Into Space competition. www.freewebs.com/iradd George and his team mates had to enter a design brief for something to aid the space industry & could be developed for use on earth. They are all 13 or 14 years old, & I think they've done a fab job. If they win, they get a 2week Nasa space camp holiday in the states. They will get experience, weightlessness, do some astronaut training, meet some brilliant scientists and have an all round excellent time. Please sign the guestbook if you like the site. Thanks.

Hope they do well, one small problem however with IR devices signals are lost far too easily as they can be blocked by the slightest thing (im sure you have all tried pointing your tv remotes and nothing has happened) this is why lasers tend to be used a lot for lining things up (eg weapon systems etc).
Plus can't see the diagram??? Like the graphic at the top.... |

The idea of this project is to get teens really interested in science I for one am really proud of them, their average age is 13.5 yrs old (even if IRADD wouldn't work in reality.) Any other geeks, feel free to have a look, and sorry if you can't see the diagram of IRADD. |
