Perhaps the girl was a bit worried 'just in case' . But I have always done bikini waxing on pregnant clients...the only problem is its a bit awkward cos of the bump and the client cant see it... but other than that theres no prob about waxing - unless things have changed since I was at college!!

Perhaps the mild shock of the strip being pulled off could increase the chances of inducing labour - but then if your used to having wax done then this wont be a 'shock'...but I remember being told not to wax in the early stages of pregnancy - incase the client co-incidently had a miscarrieage and the likelyhood would be she could blame the waxing as the cause (even though it wouldnt actually cause a miscarriage)

I was waxed down below a week before I was due with my last baby, and there were no probs. All I can say is that it was a hell of a lot more painful than usual (it made me call the poor lady doing it a very rude name).

When I did my course at College we were told that it was fine, and my best friend who did the course with me was heavily pregnant at the time.
I did her bikini all the time (including a bit of a brazilian) and never had any problems. As mentioned, it was a little bit awkward because of the big bump that was in the way, but other than that. The only thing my friend did say was that her skin was a bit more sensitive than normal, but she never went into labour and her baby was born perfectly healthy. River |

I have had many clients (past and present) that come for full leg and brazilian waxing right up until their due date. I think the only thing is that we are more sensitive to heat and pain when we are pregnant... but no other reasons why you couldn't get waxed.
