112 is the International Emergency number, don't know how true it is that it works from UK mobiles, but it's the number I would dial in Spain for the emergency services.

Whether or not the story is true, this is what you should do if you are in a quiet area and could put yourself at risk by pulling over. I went on a Ladies Safety Evening and the police said that you should only pull over in an area where you would feel safe and with other people around. One way you can tell if it maybe a real unmarked car is if there are two rear view mirrors as all police cars have these .... great to know if you are speeding and wondering if the car behind you is an unmarked police car. COUGH COUGH !!! ... did I really say that lol!

if you dial 999 should this not give you the same result.... forgive if i am wrong, i was also under the impression that if you dial the international no. over here it works.. it is great advice though, but if you were underpressure would you pull over or would you carry on, i have to admit i think i would pull over as normal.....

i dialled 112 from my mobile last night and it comes up sos call!! i think i have told everyone i know i just think its a shame that more information isint available for women motorists i mean until yesterday i never knew this and i would have pulled over(not now!!)theyll be eating my dust hahah

112 and 999 take you to the same emergency operator.

Sandi is right, 112 is the international emrgency number and 999 is the UK one, but with so many visitors to the UK now, OFCOM (or OFTEL as they were at the time) added 112 so visitors would get through first time in an emergency.

Yes, I agree the mail is one of the hoax mails I've seen before, but unfortuately it's not beyond the realms of possibility that some saddo sees it and decides it would be worth a go, so I for one will be keeping on driving to a safe place....especially if I know I've done nothing wrong to deserve pulling over!

Ya know..... I got this very email from a dear friend a few months back, I thought 'urban legand'??????????
Only a few weeks ago, a young guy was pulled over on the freeway, 3 men NOT POLICEMEN as he thought, got out, attacked him, took him in thier car, RAPED him!!!! broke all 10 of his fingers so he would give his pin number/bank details to them. Theas BA#@#RDS then went to a club and played the pokies while this poor kid was unconsios in the boot of the car!!! They returned to the car, drove to another location, raped him again and then left him for dead at a local beach!!!
1 week later, 1 of these crettons handed himself in and sold the other 2 out, a few days later 1 more came forward.
I am really aware now and would'nt pull over for anything!!!
And it just goes to show you, weirdo's are NOT picky!!!! Whether or not you are female, all should be aware of this post!!
