I find PM's work better when wanting to just thank some one for there help...but i would like to see where something has worked...or not.....if the problem was solved or they are still having the same problems....many times i see..."thanks will give it a go"......not to hear if they did or how it went....i just think it might help those having the same problems to see just what did work..or not....xxx

Excellent thread Angie!
It would be great to be able to really build up some worthwhile info for ourselves as well as future techs & their problems, by responding to how we use the help & advice given here. We seem to have pages & pages of Chitchat threads that really go on (nothing wrong with that) but threads that we could all learn from often end with a 'Thanks ill try it' and we never hear anymore of it. As Angie said... it would be really useful to start hearing of the outcomes of the info. |

good thread Angie x
it is nice to know whether the advice given has been successful or not. i think sometimes newer geeks who ask for help/advice tend to lose their threads and become a bit bewildered, using the 'thread subscription' can help that but that's a whole different thread lol. |

Great thread Angie...I must have missed it first time round.....but I totally agree!!
I often look back on threads where I have given some advice...and wondered how some geeks got on..... Although as you also said...I have had PM's from geeks to say Thanks and let me know how they got on...although that can be to say Nothing Worked!! Maybe some new geeks are unaware that they can subscribe to a thread so they can keep up with any additions??...even after a while! |
