Anybody Mobile in West Yorkshire -
03-08-06, 09:22 PM
anyone mobile in beauty or nails in west yorkshire. Just wondered how the business was? How long it has taken you to build/how many clients you have etc. Its seems to be really slow for me. Need some encouragement and inspiration!

Hi there,
Have to say I have just recently finished my maternity leave. Sooooooooooo really am starting out slowly anyway. I am also working for someone else doing pamper parties. But I have rented a room before and that was slow too. I will contact those people who were my regulars, but that was a while ago, so they may have gone elsewhere. It just amazes me how people get their business off the ground, I know its a long hard slog and it takes time. I find it inspirational that some people have thriving businesses. |

Well hun,i am mobile,even though i don't drive lol.
I have been very lucky,at the minuite beacuse my little un is on holidays,i am really limiting my clients and not taking any new untill september, having said that i am about 60% hair 40 % nails. I have never advertised ,and my prices are fair considering i have only been doing this a couple of years. My clients come from word of mouth,i charge very close friends and family half price for every service, and it still amazes me how many clients i get through them ! hth x Ps i only cover beeston and hunslet,a few from rothwell and morely come to me ! |

Hi
I am from wakefield and it does take a long time, I went and worked in a gym for 6 months which was free advertising and the clients I got there now come to me every 3 weeks and they are now recommending me to other people so it is slowly coming round. My opinion is that there are a lot of competition around so you need to be first class in the treatments you do as the best way to build your clientelle up is word of mouth. I have advertised etc. and it does not seem to work I have also done leaflets too which I only got one client from. Persevere and you will get there but it does not happen over night. |

Think you may have emailed me honey, via my website/yell.com ad. My advice would be to go to Business Link and get their advice. You need to be targetting your business at a particular market. Also sometimes it is the area you live in people just don't want treatments. But that does not stop you from flier dropping other areas. You have to think big to grow xxx I may find when I move to York no-one wants treatments. It happened before where I lived but I bought advertising and flier dropped and it picked up.
People in West Yorkshire love beauty treatments, am from there myself. You've got to get your name out there lovey. xx |
