Keeping Salon Stock Records - 12-10-06, 04:04 PM

I have recently bought approximately 50 nail varnishes that I would like to retail, which when keeping my salon stock records isn't a problem. However, if I get a manicure client in who wants a particular colour that is on my retail stand but I do not carry as an item of salon materials for use in the treatment how do I show this on my records and therefore how would it be shown on my end of year records. At the end of the year I will have to do a stock take and my retail stock will be one short

Come on all you salon owners - how do you do it?

This goes for other stuff aswell as varnishes.

I hope I have made this question clear.

I have done this with a stand of Sparitual polishes - I have my retail display stand but I use one colour in each on mani clients.

Don't you have an individual cost of each polish that you can offset against for your books?

Yep I do have a cost per varnish (got them dead cheap - just over £2 each and all brand new - bargain) but how do I offset? I am really new to all this so am not sure, any help much appreciated.
