Colleges in herts for beauty nvq 2 - 08-11-06, 02:59 PM

We are looking at colleges in herts for my daughter to do nvq beauty therapy 2 full time next september when she leaves school.Hitchen ,ware and welwyn garden city are all in fairly easy reach is there anyone who has been to any of these colleges and can offer an opinion. We are going to apply for them all for now and have got open evenings coming up.Looks like they have raised the bar on getting on the course now with gcse entry requirements you now need 176 points.A grade c being 40 points so thats quite a few and you must have science and english c or above.

something tells me its a good thing that they are finally asking for some sort of qualifications... you need certain qualifications for studying other subjects.. so why not beauty therapy....?

good english is a must and science is understandable considering the amount of chemical/ biology knowledge you will need to carry about treatments...

sometimes... the general puplic look upon beauty therapists as 'stupid'.. and only choose to study that cos they didnt pass their exams.... so by asking for qualifications now... at least people will start to dismiss this idea.......
