We have that problem with our 42" flat screen TV quite often (few times a week).
Do you have a separate tuner box for this TV. We do and it happens when there is a loose connection between the tuner box and the TV. Try having a fiddle and see if that makes any difference. |

I personally would go back to the shop and ask them if they find it 'reasonable' for this to have happened, I can't remember exactly what the law is, but a lot of it is to do with what would be classed as a reasonable time for the product to last, rather than how long the warranty is for.
Perhaps have a look on the CAB website? I would certainly be pushing for a replacement or at the very least to have the current one repaired xxx |

Ive just spoke to an engineer and he said it sounds like there is a fault and because of that the tv keeps turning itself off to safe guard against what ever it is thats wrong.
Im oing back to comet now and i aint moving untill they agree to fix it or replace it. If it was 6 months out of warranty fair enough but to only have it 12 months 3 weeks is a joke! Watch this space

Ok i went to to comet and i told them i purchased a 32in flat screen on 28/12/05 and this morning i turned it on only for it to turn itself off again and continues to do so! I asked what they was prepared to do about it as it seems unfair its gone just after the 12 month warranty and he was appolagetic and asked me to wait while he made a call.
He came back and said i had to phone a number (which he thrust in my hand) and said they would require a £30 payment over the phone to book an engineer and then a further £45+vat+parts BUT if it was found to be a technical fault then he would give me a sheet of paper to claim the charges back. I dont have any spare cash at the moment and told him but he said he was powerless to do anything, so i came home and ive logged it with the office of fair trading and im now following their advice. I dont feel hopefull anything will be done as its such a large company and i have a feeling im going to end up out of pocket My son has come home from work and give me his TV from his room so i have something to watch bless him. How can something that cost £700 break in 12 months??? I'm so angry its unreal! |
