You can get a spray which will help deter them (or olbas oil can work too), but you should really find out the cause of the problem.
Sometimes its because they are stressed because of other animals or people,(she may do it until she is more confident) or because their litter tray is not clean enough or even it is a place they dont like - (like a room which is busy or crowded). You could try having a second litter tray in another room and see if that helps. Also rule out an urinary tract infection. They may urinate outside the litter box if they associate it with pain, especially if they are going on soft things like clothes and bedding. Also if you are cleaning the area with bleach or disinfectant, this is not always a good idea as they contain similar agents as the urine itself and can attract the kitten to the same area! Hope this helps! |

Once you have cleaned the area the kitten has 'wet' try and rub some orange oil onto it with a cloth - you can use it on wooden surfaces etc etc - also Mr Muscle do a household cleaning spray that is 'orange' and this works in exactly the same way - can use it for more than one thing then!!!!!

Okey doke - Snugglepuss to the rescue
The possible causes for her doing this are: Litter brand change - they like familiar smells and consistency of litter. Poorly positioned litter tray - do not put tray where it is noisy or lots of people are coming in and out. Over used litter tray - cats hate dirty over used litter. Psychological disorder - sometimes a bored depressed cat, lonely or spiteful cat will urinate anywhere! Territorial marking - more so in males but sometimes females can be as well. Medical condition - self explanatory - have her checked out by the vet For getting rid of and preventing those mishaps Have more than one litter tray. Use a citrus based cleaner. Place their food bowl on top of the spot where they have peed . Clean by using carbonated water or soapy water, and then apply a misting of vinegar, mouthwash, or a citrus based cleaner. Never use an ammonium based cleaner - this will encourage the cat to use the same place. Lastly ensure that you remove all smell and deposits (otherwise they will just keep using the same places) To do this use a uv light and the deposits of cat urine will fluoresce, this will make the spots easier to detect So geeks, if we see you carrying your UV nail lamps about with it on and looking over furnishing and carpets then we will know you have a cat problem |

It's true about the citrus fruit thing, cats hate the smell of citrus fruit and also you ca try a little pepper in the places you don't wan't her going.
This is kinder than chemicals and will train her not to go to these places.....and try not to leave clothes on the floor and they won't get peed on! |
