Maybe try draping a sheer curtain across from the middle to one side of the window, either in white or a pastel colour just to finish it off and also get some nails posters and put them up. Make the most of your shelving, they do not seem to have any order to how things are displayed, maybe try to tidy them up and keep relating products together more.
Let us see what you do to change it and what it all looks like afterwards. |

Why not get a marketing pack from Creative and do something cool with the posters and boards that you get included in the pack.
You could also try draping some pretty fabric behind the shelving units, or go for a total overhaul regarding the shelves and go for glass? I love the gold behind the Solar manicure stuff idea, that sounds as if it could be really eye catching! Maybe go for flowers with the Scensations display? An enamel pic with the enamels and so on?.... Just play about with it and see what you come up with? Show us the results when you have finished....xxx |

You definitely need colour in there
Perhaps you can paint the walls a warmer colour, or more of a contrasting colour, for instance just paint one wall a light chocolate, and the other walls cream or something like that. Perhaps you can also change your cupboards to smaller ones. For instance the glass display cabinets you can get from Ikea in a birch colour, or just the plain birch without the class. Get some product posters on the walls such as the SolarManicure etc. As already mentioned, perhaps you can also have a bit of display stand that you can change every month. One month have nail varnish, next month SolarManicure etc. You can also play around with some soft lighting. Marlise |

What's behind the curtain next to the shelving? If it's storage I'd put doors on if if poss. You can get nice big book cases from Ikea (I think they're called Billy) that are light beech and you can get lovely glass doors for them too. As your room looks - from the photos - quite small, I'd keep the colours quite light and if you keep the same shelves, maybe paint the wall behind them a darker colour. That way it's not a solid block of colour but you still get the effect without it absorbing all the light.
I like the sound of the sheer curtain at the window. Photos when it's done please!! |

How about mirrors on the wall behind your shelving. It will reflect the light and always looks good (IMO)
Would stay well away from the candle suggestion. Not a good idea where there is acetone used, trust me because years ago something happened to me to make me realise JUST how flammable even the vapours can be, and it's now part of every risk assessment I write! |

this thread made me think about my retail area. i like to change it regularly because i think it keeps clients interested. I have just added some tiny lights ( fairy lights with butterflies) to my shelve. I am on a tight budget but think wth a little imaginatian you can do a lot. I also add shells ( picked from beach ) in bowls or plates and add a few polishes which looks nice. You can buy oddments of fabric for next to nothing in the markets or fabric shops and scrunch them into clear vases bowls etc then add products. This is a cheap way to change colours for themes as you only need to buy the scraps of material etc. I always label items clearly as well so people don't have to ask. HTH
