I asked this question in the thread about Zoe's nails in Grazia, but think it got a bit lost amongst all the praise of her fantastic nails and how they were achieved, lol!

In Scratch "Nails in the City" Zoe talked about this photo shoot and how it was achieved.

One comment by Zoe has got me thinking (potentially very dangerous! ) I really need to know the answer as I will not sleep, lol! Could it be because the less dominant hand is more likely to be in better condition......

"After chatting with the photographer, I was told it's better to use the less dominant hand when photographing something like this, so ~ as she was right handed ~ I applied the nails to the left"

Has anyone any idea why this would be?!??! Please, any flashes of inspiration would be great and would save me on under eye concealer in the morning

I think you're probably right in thinking that it would be because the left hand would be in better condition, I know that my right hand, which i use most, has got a cut on the index finger and a lump on my middle finger from holding a pen! My left hand is far more attractive !!!! Maybe also your less dominant hand would be a bit more relaxed??!!

I'm properly scrutinising my hands now... think I may have become obsessed lol! But I'm fairly sure that now I have really looked, my dominant hand (right) looks about 5 years older than the other

I have never thought about this in my life until I read that quote, but I really think that could be the reason.

My knuckles are far more wrinkly, index finger a bit bent, nail beds not quite so straight, more little scars and I think even the skin tone is a bit worse..... Oh my God, my right hand has an inferiority complex now

I have to say, I automatically go for the right hand when taking pics of my work, so will have a swap around after this and see if I can get better results!
