hi hun , i have had an ulcer on and off since i was a kid , used to hardly eat anything coz i used to throw up all the time ,
i lived on toast and tea !! then we found out i had gallstones which dont help either ! had gallbladder removed which was a nightmare (wont bore ya ) also at thie time my ulcer got infected so had to take loada of antibiotics for that i know you will be scared hun , but am sure you will find out soon what it is , if it was something really bad hun they would inform you straightaway , and get him in for treatment. they wouldnt hide it from ya hun ![]() also eggs have a high fat content so they can actually make the stomach flare up even more ! also salad puts too much stress on the stomach as its so hard to digest !! (i never believed that when they told me ) try getting some cracker breads and cottage cheese , avoid tomato based soups , they make too much acid is your hubby on any meds ?? i would be shocked if he isnt ?? hope this helps a bit hun xxxxx |

their are many types of stomach disorders from producing too much acid, acid reflux, IBS, crohns, cealiac.
What you will find is that certain foods are very hard to digest: cucumber lettuce peppers tomatoes broccolli pulses and beans etc If he is diagnosed as having a particular disorder, then dietary advice will be given. If its any consolation, a friend had similar, she was really ill at one point, in and out of hospital, looked like death-warmed up, they took a few liver biopsies but were very secretive. She had crohns and controls it by diet. My hub has IBS and we got our hair analysed to find out what intolerances we had, his made perfect sense, and within a week of excluding these foods out of his diet he felt stacks better. He now eats whatever he wants, but, he knows not to overindulge in certain foods, and to give his stomach a break. We've just had an overindulgence 2 weeks being on holiday and he's eating Rennies every few hours. Needs to get back on track. (I know when its at its worst cos he does these really weird burps - he just did one thats what reminded me). HTH |

It sounds very like my ex husband as well, he had really bad indigestion all the time everything would set it off, and had to got for regular check up with the camera..he had whats called a Barret's hernia... and acid reflux//I don't know very much about it, but like the other things said its all connected to the digestive tract...I know it brought on involuntary muscle spasm hence the sickness all the time ...xx

Believe it or not, this could even be a form of migraine.
My aunt had migraines (with no headache at all) a few years back, and she would have spates of vomiting constantly for no apparent reason. She went down to 5.5 stone at one point because of it. I'm sure the doctors will get to the bottom of it in due course. |

I'm sure that if they knew what it was, they would say. They're not allowed to withold information from the patient and what would be the point.
I'm betting that it's a nervous thing and that's why they can't see anything with the tests and camera. Hope he feels well again soon. xxxx

Thanks girls, that has put my mind at rest. I know it sounds like over-reacting but ever since the doctor mentioned stomach cancer I've just been thinking "Oh my god, she wouldnt have said that for nothing!".
Dee and Ann, something you said really strikes a chord with me, Jason (hubby) does these really wierd burps, kind of hollow sounding is the best way I can describe it. Honestly he's so bad some days I swear he's deflating! Well thanks for all your replies, we see the consultant on the 11th September so I'll ressurect this thread and let you know what the result is. |

A client of mine had probs - cameras etc and no solution.(she was very worried that it was sinister as it went on for months - she was in loads of pain)
Someone recc her a product called ceasefire - and she hasn't had bother since. So when I started getting really bad acid - I found out where to get it and ordered some. They are these brown large chewable tablets - that taste of cinnamon but sticks in your teeth But they also really bloody work. The acid goes in minutes. I still have loads left and don't get much bother these days. defnitely worth a try. |

Hi Hun, I know it is easy to say but try not to worry as this will make you both feel worse, the most important thing is to explain to the consultant exactly how you feel (that you have not been told what is going on), take a list of questions with you and the consultant should be more that happy to answer them. Phone the consultants medical secretary and ask them to put you on the short notice waiting list.
Good luck for the 11th, let us know how he get on. Phil x |

I can only say from my own experience with my dad that when they do know something they do tell you at the time. When he had bowel cancer when they did the colonoscopy he was told at the time that there was a tumour there on the same day he had it.They didn't say it was definately cancerous before the biopsy came back but they did say all indications were that it was malignant.
I think they just do not know at the moment and its not that they are trying to keep you in the dark about anything. |

This is great that they did this so quickly, however, it is not my experience of what can happen. If only all facilities and consultants were as good as this. |
