I also would like to send my prayers Ken Bigley and his family. His poor mother on the tv last night brought me to tears.
These people who take the innocent and use them as pawns to get what they want, Have no morals as far as I can see. Lets just hope that there can be a happy ending for Ken, But my heart goes out to the 2 american men who were killed without a second thought by these evil people. |

My youngest daughter who is 7 asked the other morning 'why do they keep showing all the same stuff about this man?'
I then found it neccessary to explained that all he did was try & help lots of people who are not as lucky as us, that some nasty people caught him & what they had planned for him was what they had already done to 2 others. She was shocked. She watches the news, can reads the papers, she takes it all in & no amount of information will prepare her for the reality of todays world. I used to think a war lasted a couple of days MAX. How wrong I was. Best we all pray for a safe release, it's the only power we seem to have. |

here here!
It really does put all our worries into perspective! And princessmowgli i take my hat of to you! It is very good that u dont push info like that under the carpet. Yes fine we protect our children from nasty things, but there is a fine line between protection and molly coodling (sp). I admire the fact that your daughter understands this, if more children did, maybe less children would be so trusting of strangers, etc? Good on you for preparing her for the real world! I remember how much of a shock it was to wake up one day a grown up, and see how the world really works! |

my brother is a royal marine and was with the first lot to secure airbases around iraq last year i was on tender hooks watching sky news all day everyday...i was worried senseless.
but this has brought tears to my eyes scince the first american(civilian) was captured and executed. although i was beside myself as was my dad and other brothers with worry my brother was there to do a job he knew the risks involved and was trained for this these civilians are there without views of the war but are there to rebuild iraq and mostly earn a few dollars to give their families a better life. it is the most upsetting thing about this war |

We have the radio on in our salon that broadcasts news bulletins every half hour, and each time they come on the whole salon goes quiet as everyone waits for any news about Ken. I think the whole country is saying prayers for this poor family, and all the others in this situation.
I can't begin to think what this poor man must be suffering at the hand of these evil monsters. I can only pray that they find some compassion deep in their cold hearts and release him and all the others - sadly I don't think they will. |

Ken went to Iraq do do a job, to be a good samaritan to all those suffering the consequences of the war & although he would no doubt have been warned of such dangers, I don't for one minute believe he ever thought he would be captured. My thoughts are with his family, friends & all the innocent people who rely on the Ken Bigleys of this world. |

Ken Bigley used to run the Crown Inn Pub in Easthuntspill in the late 80's which is just up the road from me, so lots of people around here know him personally.
It is devastating that human beings can treat each other like this, my heart goes out to him and his family. I posted a message of prayer on the Libertyunites web site, which was set up by a 9/11 widow. I also hope and pray god has a very special place for people who die such violent deaths, my thoughts are also with Jack Henesly and Eugene Armstrong the two Americans who have been executed. This is so sad. I keep listening out for the news to hear what's happened to him. I just hope he's brought home safely very soon. 2 friends of mine have been considering going to Iraq to work as you can earn a lot money out there but I hope they see that no amount of money is worth risking your life.
