great thread, there are some really interesting and inspiring replies.

i started my nail training 2 years ago when i was 19, and i'm proud that in 1 year i acheived 4 nail qualifications enabling me to do all aspects of nail treatments and an ear piercing diploma, i kind of shocked myself really as i dropped out of school at 14 with no qualifications! and started working whilst home schooling, i would've never thought back then i would be running my own part-time nail business now, and dreaming of opening my own salon in the future and giving up my mind knumbing full-time factory job.

i always wanted to go to college to do hair & beauty but was told by my teachers at school i was too smart & creative to do it! they really don't understand how much time and efforrt goes into it all!!
and now i'm so glad i plucked up the courage to book on evening classes in nails, and i'm enrolling on more beauty courses this september, i can't wait, it's great to think i'm investing my wages into my future instead of just wasting them going out all the time.

well at 18 after i did my a levels i went to college and done nvq level 2 & 3 leaving at 20 worked in a beauty salon did extra training such as eyelash extensions brazilian, st tropez lotion and spray ear piercing 2 body wraps (this was all while at college) and now at the ripe age of 21 (last week) i have my own room in a hairdessers i wish i had it opened before my birthday so i had the business at 20 i think thats more impressive but age is just a number :P xx
