Right this might sound daft but it worked for my friend, While on holiday and going in the sea she noticed that the salt water helped clear her Eczema.
She now as regular baths in sea salt, And it has worked for her. I also have read that cutting milk out of the sufferers diet helps in alot of cases. Hths |

Thanks Lell, Molly also pm'd me with this tip so I am off down the shops to stock up on some.
Natalie went for allergy tests in London too. Dairy products were a no-no (so no chocolate), as well as yeast products (grape skins are loaded with them and it's her fave fruit), and loads of others. The diet she was on was more stressful than the condition so she now has everything in moderation - coke is another thing that really flares it up. I'm also going to get her a new duvet today as I know house dust mites are another prob. I'll let you know how we get on with the salt. |

I'd second the salt water one, as I know it helps burn victims. Slightly anal fact dating back to doing GCSE history, but Archie McIndoe, who did major work for burns victims in WW2 discovered that pilots who crash landed into the sea seemed to heal faster than others, so he bathed all his patients in saline solution.
I hope you manage to find something that works, my dad has psoriasis for a while and he hated it, so I can only imagine how Daisy feels. I know Febreeze supposedly do an anti-allergan spray which is meant to reduce dust mites and things but I'm not sure if this could just irritate her skin. Lol x |

Don't use: Rosemary if Epileptic. Lavender if pregnant, or high blood pressure, Clary sage in pregnancy, Rosemary pregnancy, high blood pressure, Epilepsey. Recipie: 15ml of Almond carrier oil - blended with Clary sage 2 drops, Chamomile (German) 3 drops, Sandlewood 1 drops. Go to your local health shop and get some advice on her diet. Dairy products can be a contribution to this condition. Also get the almond oil and aromatherapy oils from health shop, because they are pure. Hope this ok Dawn |

Guys, you are so great, thank you. I will try all of your suggestions, and any more that come this way and report back at a later date. The salt water seems so obvious now, but when you're in the middle of a crisis your brain just doesn't work properly (not that mine does anyway lol), so I'm really glad I turned to my geek friends for advice.
Dawn thanks for your advice.. Handy andy also pm'd me about aromatherapy too. Now this may seem like a daft question, but do you rub it into the skin with carrier oils, or do you use an oil burner. I know, I know may seem daft that I don't know, but wouldn't want to get it wrong!!! I've written down your recipe and I'll get some and try it. Oh we also tried Chinese herbal stuff years ago too. Had to boil up a load of dodgy looking stuff, and it STANK!.. It was so disgusting I wouldn't give it to my worst enemy. |

Well this will stink nice, because i've checked my charts LOL One you've added all the oils, then you can apply the oil onto the effected area and also massge into the rest of the body. if you want to you can do a patch test. After applying the oil to the skin, try to leave on for as long as possible, say for instance you apply it then don't wash it or shower, bath until later on the next day. For the next 24-48 hous after treatment you may experince what you they call a healing crisis, this is normal, she may experience nausea, headaches, tiredness, body temperature changes, passing of water more often. avoid caffine and smoking , drink plenty of water. These after effects don't always occur. If anything should happen this is just a precaution, say for instance she gets a reaction, or heat reaction then get into a bath as soon as possible and wash off a cool bath. If very serious contact medical help. This again is just a precaution advice. I've used this on someone else and everything was fine. Dawn |

Just wanted to say a big thank you for all your posts and pm'd advice. Natalie's skin is so much better due to the salt water baths - it's always the easy answers that are often the best, will have a go with the aromatherapy at some point too.

Hiya, just thought I'd add a bit, in case it helps. My friend suffers, but not anywhere near as bad as your daughters sounds! Poor thing! Anyway, she uses the HEMP range from the Body Shop. It is meant to be really good for all types of skin conditions, including psoriasis and eczema.
I will have to tell her about the sea salts, she'll probably give it a go! Good luck and best wishes to your daughter.. |

Hi ya! I don't know whether you've tried it but Aloe Vera is supposed to be good.. both ingested and in cream form to apply to the skin.... I know someone who had a little boy that was literally covered in sores because of eczema and she'd tried everything but the Aloe Vera did wonders!
Good to hear that your little girl is getting better though its awful when your kids are suffering and you feel helpless to do anything for them. |

My nephew suffers really badly from it, especially on his arms since he started working as second chef in a wacky warehouse!!!!
My mum puts L'Occitane Shea Butter on him and it works wonders. He even comes home now and the first thing he does is walk up to my mum with his arms out waiting for her to put it on. I believe Aveda's Scalp Remedy does the trick also hth
