Learning to Spot Fake Konad Nail Products

How To Spot FAKE Konad Products!

It seems like almost everyone in the nail care industry
wants to get in on the Konad boom these days, even counterfeiters working out of China. The Konad nail art stamping system has become so popular with nail care professionals that the market is now flooded with Konad lookalikes, some trying to pawn themselves off as the genuine article. But we, as inquisitive citizens, can tell the difference. Or at least, after reading this article you should have no trouble.

(If you want to be absolutely certain that you are getting genuine Konad products, try buying from “Viva La Nails.” At the “Viva La Nails” online store, you will find only real Konad products, never cheap knockoffs.)

Scraper

First of all, it is easy to tell a genuine Konad scraper from a fake. Notice how the Konad scraper pictured above at the left has the brand name clearly printed on the front while the knockoff does not. In addition, the genuine product utilizes a darker colour of pink. Lastly, Konad scrapers have four evenly spaced holes just above the scraping surface. Knockoffs have four holes spaced in an uneven pattern.

When you use a real Konad scraper your stamps will come out clear and without splotches. With a fake, your are more prone to mistakes as a result of an inferior scraping surface.

Stamper

Although Konad stampers are a little more difficult to tell apart from their counterparts, the fake can still be spotted by the slightly lighter colour of its stamping surface.

Image Plates

The difference in quality between image plates is the greatest reason why you should never submit to buying fake Konad products. The fake image plates simply do not measure up. Whereas Konad uses state of the art laser technology to create its indented designs, the fakes use an inferior process which creates a rougher less precise texture. In the photos above, you can see the grainy texture of the fake on the right.

Fake plates also have a much sharper edge which can make them dangerous if not handled correctly. Konad plates, on the other hand, have a smooth edge which has been treated to prevent injury.

Special Nail Polish

When using real Konad nail polish, you will notice that it has a much higher viscosity, producing more accurate and precise designs. If you want to provide your customers with top notch service, you should never use fake Konad nail polish or regular nail polish with the Konad technique. This will create blurry or unpleasant designs.

Hologram

If all else fails, you can tell the real Konad from the counterfeits by spotting this holographic sticker pictured above. This pattern of flowers overlaid over the Konad brand name lets you know that you have found a genuine Konad product.

The Result

Look at the difference between Konad art produced from real Konad products and art produced through fake products. There is simply no comparing them. The Konad art on the left is sharp and crisp, while the fake Konad art on the right looks weak and undefined. It's no wonder that the best nail care technicians continue to choose Konad.
