hairdressers in an existing beauty salon - 11-11-09, 06:36 PM

Hi everyone.
Have a stand-alone beauty salon which has been going for 16 years but even so the recession is beginning to bite and am fed up doing endless special offers/putting up with the seasonal highs and lows so am putting in 2 or 3 hairdressing stations on the ground floor - have 4 treatment rooms upstairs and only use the downstairs room for a very few clients who cannot get up the stairs.
As a therapist I know NOTHING about hairdressing other than having my hair done!
Am thinking of a 50/50 split as want a couple of good busy stylists - is this a good deal or would 'rentachair' be better? What else would make it an attractive proposition to someone with a good client base - enough to make them move from an existing hair-salon?
We have a client base of about 1700 people although obviously they must have their own hairdressers so couldn't guarantee what percentage of spin-off from that
Thanks for any thoughts
