for me, when a client asks for this, unless the hair is supremo white and pretty wrecked i tend not to pre pig, and just use a warm colour touch or one of the colour touch plusses which are great at covering blonde. . .
it may fade slightly quicker than normal, but it isnt a bad fade and is often like subtle sunlights through the hair. . . when i do need to pre pig, i use colour mousse usually, jus slam it throo rinse, and apply the new colour. . x |

Thanks for the colour mousse tip, I will remember that. I did think of a warm colour. I think I will leave this client as I have found an email from her a few months ago asking for the same thing, and it seems she cant make her mind up what she wants as in this recent email she says she had blonde hghlights 5 weeks ago so seems shes blonde then bored, then brown then bored and so on.
Thanks again will remember your post for future. |

Hi Delia, for clients like this who change their mind a lot I would just put on a semi in colour fresh , this will just tone down the highlights and wont alter the shade of the other natural hair , heres a link ,
they come in some great shades ![]() they shouldnt get grab , but you could do some test peices just in case the ends are pourous heres a link WELLA COLOR FRESH LIGHT BROWN 5.0 (75ml) |

We went through these on the course and was told we can retail these to clients for a cheaper way to them to keep ontop of their hair. These are the ones you just apply neat arn't they? |

Hi, Delia , these ones are semis you know like a shampoo in temporary colour
as long as her highlights arn't to light then they work just fine , if they quite light then I would do some test pieces first and if you put a warmer one all over then she will have a few warmer tones in the rest of the hair too which would be nice

Do you know why she doesnt like them? are they too many of the wrong shade for her skin tone? Ive applied 4/77 straight over bleach before and although id expect fade , the client is always very happy - she alternates between 2 bleach slices 1 dark to h/l - i do warn her that bleaching and colouring over is never a good idea in the long run , just try to grab the same pieces of hair .- any way , - what about low lighting or hi lighting and appling a semi over the rest ?
Something like 8.3 weaves will help blend any root in and tone the ends , and then a warm semi in a 5 over the rest? |
