I've been learning a lot from the posts on thenailgeek and think it's a great source of information for all of us. Thanks, just wanted to introduce myself - I have no idea if I'm doing this right. We'll see. |

I actually just received the "try me kit" from Gaylene from Saint Albert and have tried it on myself and a friend. I like it, but it does have a little different consistency of course. I plan on sticking with Amore until I feel quite confident in my work or until my supplies run low. Is Akzentz your favorite?

Would you mind answering a question for me? With the Akzentz gel, the Natural gel is quite thick, I can't seem to get it to level? What is the proper technique for this gel? I find the Trilite easier, but yet a little thin, it runs easily.

Hi Val
Welcome, you will be amazed at the wealth and quality of information on this forum. I'm glad to see another Canadian on board!!!! I have mainly been using Amore gels but this spring (with Lana's support) I added some Akzentz gels. I still use the Amore bonder and it works very well with this system, I just make sure I cure it for 2 minutes. The Akzentz natural gels are really nice and easy to work with. I find them very similar to the Amore scult & shine in consistency. The cool and warm pinks are very nice, I tend to mix these two gels together to get a color that everyone can use. The Akzentz white builder gel is awesome. I like it for the fact that it is the only white you really even need!! I found that with Amore I had to use the White gel on those who needed to be sculpted over forms and then the ultra for fills. I like to keep things simple, simple, simple so therefore the Akzentz White Builder is the answer. I still have a ton of both Amore White gels to use up b4 I totally switch over to Akzentz white builder ( probably a years worth lol!!!) . Now I can't say enough about the Akzentz top gloss. It has an incredible longlasting shine. The sample pack only comes with the pink gloss top (which is nice) but the regular gloss top is unbeatable. I do not tlike the Amore top gloss and I never have!! Lana is very helpful and is incredubly knowledgeable about gels in general. You are lucky to live so close to her. Take her up on her offer to stop in, I'm sure you will be impressed!!! |
