hi everyone - 28-07-06, 07:45 AM

hi...i'm not a nail technician but i ran across this site looking for information on nails. i've been lurking & reading but i just wanted to say hi.

could you guys tell me how i could ask my nail tech (a wonderful girl) how to sculpt me natural looking tips? i don't like the white tips on myself as i'm not supposed to have acrylic/gel nails at work.

right now i have only clear acrylic overtop of my natural nails, for the last step she files my natural nail down underneath the sculpted tip and then it looks kinda funny being half clear/half natural nail tip. should i ask her to blend a natural white & clear to create a natural looking sculpted tip? hope this makes sense!

thank you in advance!

hi ya
if she sculpts and that is what you want (different obviously to a tip and overlay or a natural nail overlay) then all you would ask her for is a pink and white sculpt - but not bright white - a natural looking tip. Now, if someone asked me that, I would completely understand what she wanted. Say, as you have to us, that it has to look natural.
Btw, I don't quite get the bit where you said that she files down your natural nail under the sculpt!? does anyone else. If you have natural nail overlays I would of thought this would give you the look you were after - unless of course you want it just that tad whiter.
A good consultation with her will sort it out... how about digging out a picture you can find.... or maybe she has one you can look at?
hth xx
