Hi everyone,
We're looking for girls to tell us their funny beauty disasters for the next issue of Cosmo. Anything from bleaching facial hair and it going wrong to make-up mistakes! It would involve emailing a headshot and a brief outline of your story and you get a £10 voucher as a thank you for your time. Please email asap to make the issue!!! Thanks everyone! cath_mortimer@hotmail.com |

Makes a mockery of an industry we are trying to whole heartedly better.
Vicky Pollared: yeah right, I waxed this woman's eyebrow right off, right and it was the day before her wedding right, and she was so pissed off right, but I did it ok right....not... We want positive stories, like ten years younger.....but they spend a lot of money on their shows but the results are great.....why can't they show stories of great techs and therapists who get great results without clients or TV companies having to invest £1000's? |

What we have to remember here is that the original poster is just doing her job. Unfortunately articles which show our industry in a positive light do not sell magazines - sad but true.
Hopefully as more and more journalists come on here looking for their stories, they might start to think that there is mileage in doing positive articles - although I wont hold my breath LOL. Wouldnt it be great for a magazine to run a 10 years younger - pick a therapist, from here hopefully LOL, who could do a piece for one months magazine and then do a follow up the next month. |

Or......
A nice big spread advising the readers what to look for in a good 'nail technician' and not to just go for the price etc. Unfortunately too many people who have no idea about nails think it is just a matter of slapping a bit of acrylic on and dont appreciate just how much knowledge and skill is required. A nice big cheer for our industry would be far better than the balls ups |

The funniest thing that I have to report is when I took my sewing kit to a manicure appointment (not a good idea to use identical boxes for different things).
But as no one died or were disfigured they would not be interested! My client still laughs about it, asking if I can do her darning when I arrive! |
