Every year at the Nailympics London there are competitors that arrive on the day without a model (for various reasons).

I have managed to organise last minute models on most occasions however, it would be fantastic if anyone out there would like to put themselves forward.

If you know you are going to visit Olympia Beauty on 20-21 Sept please email me let me know if you'd be a standby model in case of emergency.

If it's anything like the Excel show that Sonia modelled at - you'd need to be in the competition area for several hours - probably at least a couple of hours or so for having the nail enhancements applied under competition conditions - then probably the same again to go through the judging area. You normally have to stick your hands through so that the judges can see your hands but not you. You'll probably get a little sticker with a number on that you stick on your hand so they know who applied the nails...

So don't plan on seeing that much of the actual show outside of the competition, as you'll probably only have a couple of hours max after the competition and judging is over...

Your hands and nails need to be in good condition too so apply lots of hand cream and cuticle oil on the run up to the event,
preferably no scars or abrasions on your hands hth

we would call you if you are attending the show - if a competitor has had an issue and has no model on the day we would need you to sit for 2 hours and have comp nails applied.

Then the judging process can be up to an hour (sometimes over in the popular categories) depending where you are in the queue.

If you are keen, it would benefit the competitor if your natural nails are cared for (moisturised and oiled) and manicured the day before.

I'm going on the 21st hopefully. I would of liked to be a hand/nail model, after reading the thread my hands/nails are not good condition to model.
